Drum Patterns library

Amazing! Kudos for the excellent resource!

Yo!

Over the last month i made many improvements and fixes (Changelog: About – Drum Patterns). I also expanded the library by adding “260 Drum Machine Patterns” and “Pocket Operations” booklet.

Now i’m working on importing over 800,000 patterns from various midi sources.

Cheers guys!

Impressive site, and great to see all the classic electro beats :raised_hands:

I’m a bit confused though…sorry if it is obvious: Is there an option to download the midifiles? Or are they only meant as inspiration?

Hmm, i need to communicate this better because you’re not the first one asking if patterns can be downloaded…

Pattern can be downloaded by clicking on the title or the pattern itself. It will open “single” page of pattern and there will be export to text and midi format, you can also comment and put “song links” in the comments.

Here is the example of “single page” (be sure to click on links in the comments starting with “@”) - Juno – GRRL, Made of Oak – Drum Patterns

Aaaah off course- simple
thank you

It is logical and easy when you know the path, but I maybe a direct link from the top menu would be helpful !?

Great site

Which top menu? The one in the top right corner? I don’t think it fits there contextually.

In the near future you would be able to export by right clicking on the pattern and choosing “export”. However, i’ll think about how to resolve or communicate this better to the user.

Cheers mate!

Could any of you guys recommend vintage drum machines that sound cool and unique? I’m looking forward to expanding drum kit library on the website.

Here is what i’ve got so far: Alesis SR-16, Boss DR-220, Emu SP-12, Korg DRM-1, Linn LM-1, Oberheim DMX, Roland TR-808, Roland TR-909, Yamaha RX-5.

Hey, that’s an amazing resource, especially for someone who struggles with drum patterns. Thank you so much!

I do have a question, though, when I click “Export MIDI”, it asks me to log in to WordPress. Is that the normal process to get the MIDI file?

Cheers,

Thanks! I have created the website for this exact reason, i was struggling with drum patterns and wanted to have some starting point/inspiration.

Export MIDI and some other features are only available for premium users. There are two ways for getting premium membership. You can either donate some money to my coffee budget or just be active on the website by contributing new patterns, commenting, bug reporting etc. If i see you care about website i give out premium as a thank you. More info here: Premium – Drum Patterns

Cheers!

@drumpatterns Would you consider adding a 303 pattern library?

If there is somebody that will provide the samples and suggests ‘sane’ layout for it i don’t see why not.

Oh, I see … that makes sense. Thanks for your reply!
Cheers,

I love that collab so much! Thanks for the resource

Donated with this user name. Nice work!

Thanks mate! Really appreciate it, enjoy your premium

Btw, already obtained samples for 303, of course it won’t do the justice but we will see.

Yo! Added 303 - Roland TB-303 – Drum Patterns

For now it only can play sampled audio (sic!) of saw and square wave. But i’m working on real synth. Will post about progress soon

Amazing idea and implementation, congrats! Most of the beats are a bit too traditional to use in electro (my taste) but it might be a precious resource. Maybe a BPM category would be great and I’m a bit surprised by categories since I guess most people looking for MIDI pattern are electronic music composers.

I could not suscribe to the website (never received the confirmation email, nothing in spams, tried few times) but the overall site goes straight to the point, really appreciate!

Actually there is bpm filtering, but it’s kinda hard to find:) - 120 – Drum Patterns (when you click some random pattern title and then on the pattern page you click it’s bpm it will show you bpm page, ).

What do you mean you’re surprised by categories? Atleast half of them are for electronic music.

I manually resent email with registration/password reset link, so check it out now.
