Drift DJ Industries Zero

Original price was ~440€ (pre order) but yes price increase a lot … for 900€ I think twice if I want some portable dj gear …
I get mine soon

EDIT: I just see that it’s 778,95 EUR

You paid €900 in the euro zone?
I thought it was more around 780 (VAT included)

I paid €440 (I was one of the first backers, I can’t remember if it was on Kickstarter or another site).

Oh right, I just saw that it’s actually €780 sorry!

If I remember correctly, the price went up last year due to rising material costs.

More hands-on video

EDIT: focused on DJ’ing, though. Not much about DAWless. Still nice.

OK, this thing is haunting me.

Not for the current feature set - that’s great but rather focused on DJ’ing - but for the potential it has, with the SDK making it possible for the community to add features.
(e.g. I’m really really really hoping for a real time MIDI looper, that would make it possible to “DJ” synths/drum loops alongside audio tracks)

This being said, as pointed out in almost every thread here, it’s not healthy to buy a product for what it might do, rather than for its current features. That’s a receipe for diappointment.

But, more importantly, I was wrong in my own message above: I asked for clarifications on the Drift DJ Discord, and €780 is without VAT. So the device would cost me €935 in Europe :no_mouth:

I always fall for innovative, boutique devices designed by small independent companies. But that’s way too much for me in view of the feature set - current or future.

Very interesting and compelling platform philosophy.

Oh wow

Tempting…
I am considering a TE TP-7, but this looks so more useful. MIDI clock in/ out :raised_hands:

And the open source philosophy.
