I had this problem for ages until I figured out you have to switch on Ableton Link while still using midi clock as the external sync source. Then the clock will magically be perfectly stable.
I often clock Drambo from a digitakt and it’s rock solid
Not really. You can MIDI control it from another DAW I guess but it’s a pain. I think for now really you need to treat it like an Elektron box (without overbridge) or something, where to me live recording is really the way to “arrange” (and sadly that’s why I don’t use them any more haha, fallen in love with the ease of arranging in a DAW). Hoping one day some arrangement timeline features comes to Drambo as it’s so close to being perfect! GrooveRider 2 is a good example how you can do this without being crazy complex.
It would be lovely to have some kind of push template for drambo…. Man
Anyone know how close we are to Launchpad integration?
Anyone on the Drambo beta?
I’m wondering if it will be possible to have 2 Launchpads hooked up, and use them for 16 tracks?
Could be the perfect sequencer if so!
My understanding is that this should be doable. The mappings are very flexible and allow you to map to each pattern launch pad in Drambo, regardless of the number of tracks.
Cheers!
Are you referring to the beta? I’m specifically talking about the up-coming Launchpad integration. Surely for the patterns it won’t need to be mapped?
I am. It is still based upon mappings, just the functionality has been greatly expanded with bidirectional midi etc.
Are you allowed to give any more details?
If not, no worries, totally understand!
You guys last night I finally had a chance to get blazed and properly mess with Drambo for a couple hours, and now I fully Get It. So fun! What if Koala + Spacecraft + Monolit? What indeed! So stoked to go deep with this.
huge respect to this…that makes Drambo even more serious as an AV groovebox/OT hybrid
Hello, thank you for all this discussion thread, I learned a lot thanks to you. Drambo is a great and unparalleled application in my opinion. The video sending proves that it’s just delirious. I want to attach a midi controller (I work on iPad) since I saw a video of @echo_opera with the Launchpad X. Do you think the Launchpad Pro Mk3 gives even more satisfaction? Will I be able to both control DRambo and use the Launchpad sequencer to enter the notes on DRambo? Is Launchpad X enough? And above all, can we configure the Launchpad from the iPad? If this is not the right way, is there a better controller for DRambo? Thank you for your help and sorry for my ugly English, I’m French!
There’s an update coming to Drambo that provides integration with Launchpads. Might be worth waiting for that, or getting on the beta!
Thank you @Laser for your answer. I will start with a Launchpad X, it will already be good for the controls and the game with the pads and their speed. I will wait for Novation to release the LP Pro mk4. I can’t wait to find my iPad…
