I also figured out how to copy a playing pattern to another pattern without stopping playback or changing patterns. itâs always some finger yoga combination on this-then-that

It always felt natural to me, I just did it without thinking and then got annoyed when I tried on the OT which doesnât do it.

sometimes the key combo order requires to hit copy/paste, but without holding func, which seems weird, but if your holding pattern down it kinda is the same thing, itâs a modifier like shift/ctrl, I guess just undocumented. that was the last headache I ever had with elektron stuff, copy a playing pattern to a new slot without stopping, change pattern to the copy, then keep on with the variation editing.
actually still have grievance with direct jump being only in A4. cause it literally makes the whole row of trigs into a buffet of fills, or a bunch of melodic snippets you can performatively patchwork together depending on the timing of when you change patterns and whatâs in each pattern, idk how you leave something that powerful out of literally every other sequencer in the lineup. A4 with direct jump and transpose is a fucking playground

A4 has a random mode for arp
I would love probability and scales for the arp notes, similar to how fill, cond and prob are separate, they could have another prob knob

Voice allocation lock track to voice
On voice setup knob E controls the voices, by default itâs set to DYN, turning clockwise letâs you reserve a number of voices for this track, my suggestion is to allow turning it counterclockwise to assign it to a specific voice. This would allow things like choke groups by assigning multiple tracks to the same voice.
Preview Pattern Name
When holding PTN and holding a pattern trig show the name of the destination pattern in the top bar, maybe inverted to distinguish it from the current pattern. This would be handy for remembering which pattern is which.
A way to set a color for each pattern would be cool too.
Quick modulation destination
When choosing a modulator destination, scrolling up from None could show the last few tweaked parameters since they are often the thing you want to modulate.
Eg tweak filter frequency, then go to mod page, turn dest encoder counter clockwise and above None would be Filter frequency.
Saves a lot of time scrolling.

I believe it would be more likely in the layer setup menu.
Choke groups to me seems like a voice allocation thing to me, and nothing to do with layering.
But itâs something that would be great to be able to do by any method, since itâs such a great drum machine.
I assume whatever solution should work for both DT2 and DN2 and in that case voice allocation makes less sense since that doesnât exist for DT2 AFAIK.

i 've done that on the og, why not using both track sounds without layering so you never waste a voice and use it also ? when track 1 is not playing but track 2 is playing so only one voice count ?
First reason is to edit only 1 track without having to copy/paste preset.
Second is to use only 1 arp for the 2 tracks.
what else has track offset??
Do we have to open support requests for feature wishes? Or is this list valid for elektron?
And was nearly dropped from DT2 DN2 now they have GUI(slow) options for copying, i fought hard for this being reintegrated during testing - it was one thing i sought from the beginning, couldnât bear to see a crucial workflow pass by
still annoyed that Live recording of Preset Pool sounds into the track is not possible from viewing of the Pool - such a killer feature and far more flexible than the Preset Pool Mode in some regards
This got added into all bar the last few and it was so powerful, again, itâs one that stands to be lost if itâs undocumented and overlooked
So my FR contribution is a shout out for Live Recording from browsing the Pool, such that you can do it externally via MIDI with velocity or just get pitch variation at the first try (not possible with Pool Mode)
I believe we may need a view of the Pool which is not a âmanage poolâ type view but more a play pool type view, i.e. treat Pool like a Bank
Browsing Pool names as a prelude to quick entry is better than bashing blind on the yellow squares, especially if the pool is changed or large
It should be an option as it;s doable on all but the last few devices despite being an advocate for it
Bring Back TRK+TRK for opening the Browser too

Liven Lofi-12 and Drumbrute impact have both swing per-track and track offset. not aware of any others.

Here is a trick for all of those asking for Direct Jump, you can basically already do it, it just takes a few steps.
Func + Yes to save the current pattern.
Go to the pattern select screen.
copy the pattern you want to direct jump to
press no to leave the pattern selection screen
Func + Paste to paste the copied pattern on top of the currently playing pattern.
Then to go back to the original pattern, just use func + no to reload.

It is arguably less valid, but it does have validity, it is seen and will have a bearing to some extent - but it does become a bit of a mess here - the official email is official, but who knows what becomes of the ideas here or there - hopefully good and or popular ones rise to the surface

I am also highly keen on a solution, to select sounds from the pool via midi - that would make it totally crazy playable from a sequencer, and allow smooth transitions - or let the beat be played from another sound etc. I already see a lot of suggestions resolving around the sound pool - maybe there can be wish list assembled with prioritys. (Would be great if that would be possible on any of the Elektrons.) (Maybe a random sound pool trigger - would also be fun , or just a value, that can be combined with math trig (1:8 and then pool nr. 48) (maybe the pool needs a split, so for each engine, there is a separate list.)
