Digitone II Feature Requests

This is a really cool idea. I was going to request the ability to sync the multiplier to the notes a la the A4:

MUL (LFO1 Multiplier) multiplies the SPD parameter by the set factor. (x) multiplies the current tempo, (dot) syncs the LFO to 120 BPM regardless of the tempo, and (tuning fork) syncs the LFO to OSC1.

Also, if we’re brainstorming MOD machines, key tracking that could be assigned freely would be cool and unique

Keytracking can be assigned freely, on up to 4 different parameters. Check out the track setup menu.

This is really cool. I guess I didn’t notice it hiding in there.

Unfortunately keytracking to LFO speed is not useful keeping the LFO synced to pitch as its linear vs logarithmic. But keytracking modulation is super cool to make use of.

LFO -> Sound Pool preset select for sound locked steps

Could be very cool for percussive patches, kind of like the (random) LFO to sample select trick on the Digitakt.

Not that bad with Key Tracking +16 (speed x2)…I have to try it more ! +24?

yes yes yes

microtuning on the novation peak is like this, you can tune any MIDI note 0-127 to any pitch.

and yes yes yes again to multiple user tunings saved on the device—preferably with each tuning nameable by the user.

This. I am suprised that this was left out. Even without dedicated button, this should be easy to implement. Kicking myslef for letting A4 go just for this alone…

You can get it to sync to a division of the oscillator pitch across octaves?

I thought but no. Cannot work indeed. At speed 16, -8 is an octave lower, but +8 is a fifth above…

Fork please !
Lfo speed is still an intersting destination…

Unison - more control of spread

V.AMNT and STATE could be combined such that it only uses one knob, and have separate controls for stereo spread and pitch spread. If it also spread say MOD DEPTH or BREATH CONTROL for example it could then be mapped to interesting parameters anywhere else to allow more variation per voice.

Arpeggiator and Unison indicators when window is open

Currently when you’re viewing the Arp window or Unison window, the button light no longer indicates if Arp or Unison is enabled. This can make it hard to tell if these features are enabled at a glance if you happen to have the window open.

Suggestion:
When enabled but window is not open, show dim cyan led, when window is open and enabled show bright cyan led. When disabled and window open show white led.

Note Locks should not always highlight TRIG page

when holding trig unless other parameters are locked, since Note can not be not locked (unless things are changed such that note locks can be removed).

Revert live recording take

While live recording hold REC and press NO to revert the current live recording take so you can try again if you messed something up

Yes. Knobs B and C aren’t used !
Too much detune to my taste.

Add the CHORDS feature!

feature: additional key combination that’d allow a track’s individual steps to be moved in microsteps ([FUNC] + [?] + [LEFT] / [RIGHT]).

this feature request basically applies to all Elektron sequencers but since 128 step patterns are a thing now with DT2 and DN2, being able to move a track’s steps in a more granular way (in microsteps) rather than in steps only would be really helpful, e.g. for creating and trying ā€œhard codedā€ swing settings etc. while a pattern is playing. I know about the swing setting but in some cases I prefer creating swing myself (forward/backward etc.)

you can microtime shift all steps of a track already. don’t ask me how

The way it works at the moment makes perfect sense to me and I’d argue against changing it. As far as I see it, you are always controlling the active track and the other tracks follow along with control all. It would feel weird to me if I were looking at the values, twisting the knobs, and not see and hear them change on the active track. In addition, they way it’s implemented now allows another layer of selectivity for control all which would be lost if they’d change it.

How ? :content:
I read that somewhere but didn’t find it in the manual. @LyingDalai?

hold one trig, go to microtime like normal, then hit func
