Digitone feature requests!

from this part of the diagram you can see that both ext in and internal voices go into the mixer same way, so I guess if there was a way to unbind the ext ins from mains the same way as internal tracks - goal achieved.
even better implementation would be full volume sends detached from the level of either ext ins or internal tracks, but even basic unbind from main would work perfect and make the DN midi controllable external fx box, which would be really cool.

I’d love to have an option for applying some randomness to the sequences, specifically randomizing the octave in which each trigger is played (maybe with an option for fifths or other intervals as well)

I was thinking the other day how cool it would be if you could feed the tracks into one another like how you can on the A4 and THEN I thought how cool it would be if you could replace an operator with an external source like how you can on the A4 and THEN I thought how cool it would be if you could replace a modulator with an external source so can we get on that please?

Well… It would be cool!

I guess you can achieve this to some extent by using a square wave LFO to pitch, set to +6.00. Then use Hold to maintain the pitch until the next trigger. If the LFO is free-running and not set to a temposynced speed it will appear random. If you want more randomness you can use LFO2 to affect LFO1. Or you could LFO2 with the same settings as LFO1, and it will jump within a 3 octave range.

  • Keyboard fold in chord input mode for trigs

The ability to record note length in grid recording mode would be nice, it records velocity so why not length?

I’ve used that technique in the past, but it’s not very flexible in terms on how much randomness you can apply, and it also takes up at least one of our precious LFOs which is not ideal. But it is a good workaround sometimes!

True. A random mode for the arp would solve it.

If I could make some potentially unreasonable demands;

  1. base width filter on inputs (this would be appreciated across the range probably but only really matters to me on digitone  I’ve already asked for this I know!
  2. compressor per audio track! Would be great tbh as sometimes a particularly wobbly synth can be all over the place volume wise and it would be super sweet be able to tame this
  3. a band pass filter mode, I know there is the base width but it serves a different purpose than a resonant bandpass. I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s asked for this one
Bonus points if we could get a peak/notch type filter as well :kissing_heart:

To me, a peak/notch filter is way more useful than a regular bandpass.

Hello! Hit a wall that I would love a fix for: the control channel does not listen to expression cc (mod, breath, pitch), making it disappointing to use for live performance…

I map macros for all my patches, and I’d love to use them with control channel!

GLOBAL OPTION for Keyboard settings:
It would be handy to have a Global keyboard option, so that KB Scale, Root Note and KB Fold are applied to all tracks on all patterns!

Every time I need to change scale I have to set it separately on each track once at the time, and this over all patterns. I would love to able to make these changes once for all.

Same could apply to Digitakt and Syntakt as well.

Parameter locks recorded when sequencing in step record mode! It’d be so nice to be able to automate knob positions when writing individual steps in without having to p-lock later

I’m sure it’s been said and requested before, but we need the option to add Slew to the parameter locks (like PO14 Sub does by default, and is one button press away on the Pro3.) We don’t need the full Slide Trigs sequencer lane like on the Analog’s, just a simple Slew On/Off parameter per track. For a melodic instrument for the Digitone, the most common use case for parameter locks is sequencing smooth filter sweeps or operator levels, which is currently not possible unless you want to spend alot of time fiddling with LFO’s (I do not). Put it in the Sound Setup menu if you have to, but we need this feature!

reading your message gave me an idea
if parameter slew made to be simplistic, lets say all settings fit into one knob in one of the menus
and it controls both duration and shape of slew

imagine if that slew parameter itself was also p-lockable
so you can adjust its articulation mid-pattern

so that all locked parameters change in respect to how p-slew is set
while p-slew is not affected by itself, and changes like default stepped jump

That would be really cool as well, it would make it almost as powerful as the Slide Trigs on the Analogs. It would transfer over to the other Digi boxes as well. However they want to do it is fine by me. I just want to be able to live record parameter locks and have a slew amount added to make it appear continuous.

Low Pass for the Master Overdrive.

Right now, even 0.01 MOD insta-gibs all Sub Bass :((((

This was mentioned before but…

I think the real #1 feature that is an actually painful omission that’s also super essential to synth sound design is having envelope shape control   .

Creating natural pads, sharp plucks and any percussive sounds is so severely limited by the linear, locked-in envelope shapes. It’s my biggest disappointment in all the digis in fact, because they all share this fault. It also wouldn’t require extra DSP power and there’s room in the UI for it.

Please, Elektron!

Envelope for the volume is known to be exponential. In UI look it’s linear but make a sound, record it and you will see in the wave editor the decay/release phase is exponential.
