midi loopback would be fun if there were project wide midi presets. geez
that would be nice, but you can still copy your midi settings over patterns easily enough by [TRACK+COPY] and [TRACK+PASTE], I thing you can also copy over between projectsā¦
Would be great if all of the Digitone LFOās AB destinations (AB Level, AB Attack, AB Decay, AB End, AB Delay) had an alt version too (ABĀ±) : when A goes up, B goes down, like a crossfader between A and B.
EDIT: it does work, I donāt l know why I couldnāt make it work previously, but it receives CC1 just fine
Iām very sad to learn that thereās no CC for the Modulation controls (MW, AT, PB, etc.)
I want to use them as Macros with a MIDI controller and afaik thereās no CC assigned to theseā¦ crazy!
Yes there are. Modwheel is cc1, breath controller is cc2. After touch never has a cc as itās not a control change, right?
I use modwheel all the time with my Digitone.
itās not, but EC4 for example can send aftertouch instead of cc values, I have it mapped to my digitone, you just change the encoder type to AftT instead of CC/NRPN
ability to set aftertouch and breath controller per step in sequencer and control them via lfos = mod matrix with 8 independent destinations
Add the ability to assign the 4 envelopes anywhere (and loop the envelopes) and weāre really cooking.
Ya. I know. Thatās why I was saying he could still use it
Ability to p-lock the arp note length. This is possible with the OT midi arp, so why not implemented in this newer machine? And it canāt be CC controlled, so manual adjustment / tweaking only.
plz elektron, place the LP4 next to the LP2, if you want to switch between them today you go through the HP which makes abrupt change, having them ordered OFF / LP2 / LP4 / HP
instead of OFF / LP2 / HP / LP4
would make it possible to switch between the LP filters in a smoother way without breaking the sound temporarily.
ps: it should be easy to code :P
Yes it is as illogical as bothering indeed.
thoughts on HP - OFF - LP2 - LP4 order? would make for minimum volume jumps.
if notch filter was a thing (which i hope so, one day) id place it between HP and OFF
this could be a good option too, I just want the both LPs next to each other, if it had 2 HPs Iād want them next to each other too
placing the OFF in the middle would make sense in case you want to flip the filter while playing, good idea!
I cant believe it took me so long to realize - phase offsets
I would love if elektron would clean up the midi implementation a little, specifically to allow CC control of the operator frequency offsets. Iād love to ride these on a fader to have precise control of detuning or to externally sequence them. (or with midi loopback and squarewave LFOsā¦)
Theyāre currently only editable through NRPN, but there are several CC values that arenāt really useful in the āTrig Parametersā page. Most of these parameters set up the sequencer, but they donāt do anything to the sound directly. They still require the digitoneās sequencer to be manually programmed on the machine, so it doesnāt really help to have remote controls for them. I doubt anyone is using CCs to control the sequencerās root, velocity, trig length, filter trig, or lfo trig parameters. (CCs 3,4,5,13, and 14) These CC values could be freed up for control of the operator offsets, which are actually practical to control remotely.
It would be a game changer if we could route track output so its possible to mute a track from the main headphone mix output while outputting from left/right outputs to effects and back into the input. Like a cue out.
So that I can run tracks out of the L/R output into effects chains and back into the input without a feedback loop.
Unfortunately the main output and headphone out are hard wired, so this isnāt something they could implement. But this is already doable over the main out and usb out.
Wondering if this would be doable somehow: convert arp pattern to sequence. Microfreak has this feature and itās quite inspiring and fun. That way you could ārenderā the arpeggiator notes and add details manually (conditionals, note length variations, etc.)
things id love to be added in Sound setup menu:
-
keytrack submenu with all main parameters available for keytracking, with both positive and negative amounts
-
volume offset/boost
(high detail pad sounds always end up too quiet even at max AMP volume compared to more simple FM sounds, making balancing via amp/track volume uncomfortable) -
ratio offset correction
(would make using interesting ratios much easier. Right now its either - adjust 4 of them by the same amount while trying to preserve the sound, or use an LFO, which are too valuable for that use)
