Digitone feature requests!

Not much demand here, for obvious reasons.

Well, precisely : I like my Digitone KEYS 1) Because I’m a keyboard player 2) Because it has separate outputs and I pair it with external hardware.

I doubt there will ever be a Digitone Keys 2, for It was not a seller and I don’t see extending the output to 16 stereo stuff i.e. 32 of them etc. But this is not my main point.

My main point is that I guess many things implemented into the DN 2 could also find their way into DN OG (sound machines etc.). You might think IT’s Crazy, but it’s not.

Hardcore Elektronauts have already gone 2s, but the price tag of those new entries might just be too high for newcomers, people unfamiliar with the Worflow etc.

So prices on DT and DN (particularly DN) going down is a good thing in this regard, but too much devaluation is not good for those among newcomers that become true believers. If they can recoup their 2nd hand purchase to “discover” by letting them go at still a good price, they are more likely in the end to jump a notch up too ! By adding functions to the OGs, the resale value remains high, while limitations make the upgrade worth the extra money (even more so with DT OG as a mono sampler with limited +drive space).

When the Ferrari F-50 came out, the F-40 did not end up in Junk Yards…

Their will always be 4 Tone and 4 Midi Tracks ONLY on the DN OG, but having one drum, one improved FM, one Swarmer and one Wavetone track(s) would be such a blast ! Even with added limitations in Polyphony, Sequencing, there are a myriad of improved things that does not tax CPU (ex : labelling of CC controls for MIDI tracks…). I could actually pay for that.

And they’re so very well built : those sound tanks deserve a future. Corporate-wise, favouring reparability/upgradability might also not only be good as an image to customers (Novation does that very well), but that ain’t greenwashing, these are actions that can be valued from a corporate tax-rebate point of view (not sure what swedish fiscality looks like, but pretty much every EU country favors that kind of initiative).

And I like entering notes with such a nice keyboard and play on top.
