Digitone / Digitone Keys: bug reports

So it has a lot of high end on that sound because you added a lot of err? (har har har)

Hope a power cycle can fix it.

Since I upgraded to 1.32 (then 1.32A), I’ve had two instances of entire projects being corrupted. In the first case, a different project ended up overriding an existing project. No idea how that happened. Then, today, using 1.32A, a backup of the same project became corrupted. The sound pool disappeared, there were suddenly only about 50 of the original 128 patterns.

Prior to 1.32 and 1.32A, I never had anything of this seriousness happen. Sorry I can’t provide any other information.

People, backup your work!!!

Yep only since 1.32A but consistenly, on different patches. If i turn the knob a value appears but after a while it goes back to Error.

Are you using MIDI or overbridge to control the Digitone?
I’ve seen this before when the messages sent are out of range; the 'tone shows ERR, mainly on the B operator, if I recall.

On the mixer/Master Overdrive page, FUNC+NO doesn’t revert the settings.

Could this be the same issue as mentioned below for the DT (When Global FX are enabled)?

I was trying to get pure white noise to filter into things. So to do this, from an initialized patch: Algorithm 8, mix all the way to Y, B1 offset to -1 so it cancels out, then introduced feedback to get a pure noise signal. And it workes, but every few presses of a key it freaks out, messing with the harmonics in conjunction with this causes more buggy behaviour. Can anyone else replicate this? Am I being stupid or is this actually a bug? I’m running 1.32a

Just checked this, and got the same result. Amazing source of glitchy noise. Maybe this is just what happens when feeding back an oscillator at 0Hz?

Seems a fair guess, not every path or workflow is bound to be a sweet spot.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to send the question to Elektron to figure out if it’s a “bug” or expected behavior!

Algo 8 is the only one where a single isolated operator can be feedbacked.
Trying to replicate this with another algo (4) doesn’t seem to do the nice glitching.

Nope because this is with Global FX switched off.

Hi all! Just encountered this bug on 1.31 and was wondering if it’s still a problem with 1.32:

  • Choose a scale for a track (e.g. Ionian on C5)
  • Add a trig with a note not belonging to the scale (e.g. C#5)
  • Try to transpose that trig one octave up by holding the trig + Func + Up
  • DN will always freeze and needs to be restarted

Just tried on 1.32A, and it works fine, no freez!

Hi I have a serious problem, not sure if its a bug or hardware issue. I have a new DN Keys running 1.32A.

At seemingly random times, the Midi tracks stop sending data. The triggers are still lit and no other settings are changed (I’ve quintuple checked this) but no Midi is sent. When this happens, if I go back to the synth tracks, it gets frozen on track one. Pushing the other tracks does not change the track. A restart restores normal behavior.

I’m not doing anything crazy with Midi so I don’t think its a data jam, and anyhow even if it was I don’t know why that would then be related to the synth track freeze.

I’m will send in a support ticket but just wanted to ask here first in case anyone has seen this or suspects user error. I’m a new Elektron user and I assumed it was my error for the first two weeks but I’ve had enough hours now that I’m pretty sure I understand normal behavior and this is not normal. I will take a video and post here soon too.

I just remembered I wanted to try this on my DN and on my DN those pages do reload as expected (1.32A)

When Global effects and mixer are checked reloading still does not work.

As linked above, this is the same as on the Digitakt and intended unfortunately.

I see. I’m sure it would require some extra coding but it would be very useful if it would reload the current pattern’s saved settings. I still request that.

Also Copy and paste effects and mixer settings doesn’t work and that makes no sense. That should definitely be possible and it would be an important workaround since you could keep your settings saved temporarily in the copy buffer.

All of these “per pattern stored” fx settings loose the “restore from pattern” and copy from/to functionality when setting it to global.

Something to be aware of when setting fx to global.
