Digitakt II & USB Midi Keyboard set up?

Great news about the Digitakt II being released.

Just wanted to clarify if the new Keyboard Set Up button allows each pad to be chromatic by using a USB MIDI Keyboard?
(not sure if you could do this anyway on the original Digitakt?) so each sample could be played as chords (polyphony depending)?

Secondly i have an unused M-Audio Oxygen 25 (v3 I think) : M-Audio

Is there a USB to MIDI Cable that could allow me to plug this M-Audio Oxygen 25 into the Digitakt II to use as a small keyboard?

ie: USB-B out from M-Audio Oxygen 25, to MIDI IN/OUT on the Digitakt? so I can use extra knobs on the M-Audio Oxygen 25?

Does a cable like this exist so I could connect these directly?

If your keyboard does not have DIN midi, and only USB midi, you’ll need a little more than a cable. The USB port on the keyboard will be a ‘USB device’ meant to connect to a ‘USB Host’. Unfortunately the DT2 is not a ‘USB Host’ it’s another ‘USB device’ .

You will need a USB host (or usb hub) to connect them. A computer can act as a USB host, and there are also specialist hardware devices that do it. There was a new one I posted on here recently.

EDIT: This is the recent one, but actually, it does a lot more than act as a midi host.

So any MIDI keyboard with MIDI Din plugs would work? like the Akai MPK Mini plus?

If you have a keyboard with either midi din sockets, or midi ‘aux’ jacks then you’ll find the right cable will do the job yes.
