That unloads the samples but I’m pretty sure it does not clear the filter/amp/fx/LFO settings etc.
Try your process then check amp settings on tracks 1 and 9

They are all in a neutral setting in a new project.
if you really think about it, p-locking start and end points on a sample in one shot mode is basically manual slicing
Exactly.
I was never 100% sure of that … thanks.
What I like to do is:
Create a new project and fill the 8 banks with samples from your +drive. Try to organize a bit per bank (kicks in A, percussion in B, loops in C etc)
Save the project as a ‘template’. This way you can always quickly get started with a project full of sounds by loading the template project and immediately ‘save as’ under a new name.
Then make a little pattern. Activate control all and scroll through sample slot. All your tracks will now swap samples, with interesting surprises as a result sometimes.
Interesting feature here is: When holding the [TRK] button to control all, when you use the encoder to scroll through samples, all the tracks will swap sample. If you use the arrow up/down keys, only the selected track will swap sample.
[PAGE] + [YES] to randomize the page also works when holding [TRK] to randomize the page for all tracks
very nice i didn’t know you could do that for all tracks!
You can also just press Track+Play to clear all the preset parameters for all pages in one shot if you need to as well.
I am not sure if it randomizes every track seperately or if it applies one ‘set’ of settings to all tracks.
And as far as I know this doesn’t work for the [MOD] page unfortunately, that would be cool
That’s where I started my query
Doh, my bad.
Would agree if we had zoom and zero-crossing detection
Hi
I tried this yesterday, very interesting, thank you.
Just one question ( I’m just starting with the Digitakt ) : is it possible to lock one or more parameters of this random trick ?
For example, it would be interesting to be able to block the play parameter when randomizing the source page.
Not my video, but a clever trick for transposing or changing scales with os 1.10:
With the new personalize options for scales as you want them:
Change the key or scale type in keyboard
Hold an active trig and TRK
Turn the NOTE encoder UP one, then DOWN one, and the notes will snap into the new key.
Noob question: If I delete a bunch of samples, and then transfer them back to the DTII - but with different filenames! - will the projects/patterns be broken?
If you copied exactly the same original files (no bit-rate changes, nothing clipped off the end, etc) then the new copies should work and connect up with your old projects even if the files have different names and are in different folders.
EDIT: this works because Transfer and DT1/2 look at the content of the file only (not the name) and assign a unique ‘hash’ derived from that content. So two identical files, even if they have different names, will have the same hash.
Files in a project definitely are connected to files on the plus drive by means of the hash. And I’m pretty certain that presets must work the same way, and kits too.
Awesome, this is what I thought I remembered but I did not have a source. Thank you!
Maybe already posted but just learned that you can transpose a whole track by holding track+a trig and changing midi note. And transpose a page by going to the selected page and hold page+a trig and change note
Works with scale as well, so you can convert from say major to minor by updating the scale and then shuffle the pitch up and down for all notes to jump into the new scale.
If you haven’t already seen it, there’s a video explaining this 5 posts up from yours. Enjoy.
Omg, haha. I search for transpose to see if anyone had written about it and didn’t find anything
Great video explaining it!
