Still confused about these global settings (never owned DT1). Are we talking about
- send amounts for reverb/delay
- configuration of reverb/delay (like delay feedback)
- or both
Still confused about these global settings (never owned DT1). Are we talking about
I’ve sent a support request to enable setting modulation values (mod wheel etc.) with pushed encoders to rounded values, as happens on the ST and DNII (8, 12, 20 24 etc.), on the DTII.
On the DT1 the configuration of the delay and reverb can be set to be global (page 72 of the manual)
The sends always going to be are per track (and per pattern), it’s not about them
Alright, makes total sense … that was what I thought until I got confused by the dialogue above
that’s the thing I really don’t understand why they didn’t put this superusefull functionality
Hello there, @Elektron and fellow Elekronikers
'Back once again! b-b-back-wakka-wakka-back once again with another here little silly feature request…
(sorry couldn’t help myself there)
So there’s multitrack audio over usb using overbridge…
I’m looking into buying a Tascam Model 12/24 mixer. (maybe) Now, I heard the AKAI mpc standalone unit integrates nicely (so you can route all those multi tracks out to individual tracks on the TASC mixer and apply EQs, etc to it)
Would it be possible to somehow have the Digitakt II do the same (without the need of additional hardware as in laptops/desktops DAWs or routing hell to bridge this gap?)
Having all those lovely tracks out of the DT2 on seperate travks at your fingertips to sculpt on a Tas M24?! nice!
Also i think the (DVS) Vinyl machine would still be a nice feature to have for the DT2 too (scratching with digital samples by midi or DVS eg through turntables and timecode vinyl, or via eg NI Traktor and a midi controller? To add a new superpower to the DT2 and being able to scratch away without ripping vinyls and busting those expensive needles?
And being able to edit those scratches afterwards through trigs. In essence scratching is speeding/slowing down the playhead (needle) per trigstep while per step also forwarding/reversing the playback and toggling with the volume fader. (cutting) Also multiple scratches (back and forth) on one trig like a steprepeater/triggerFX doubles tripplets etc…
Since we’re talking samples here (and the DT2 being a crate digging aparatus of sorts, i think it would bring a very welcome new landscape to explore for flipping and sculpting those samples into new sonic territory - while also making the connection reaching back in time and honoring the roots of sampling itself: ‘scratching’ and ‘turntablism’
That was my sales pitch
PS: checkout TrackLib (i but recently discovered, and coincidentally also hails from Sweden!) There’s a nice competition running. Serious spending money up for grabs and a possible release on one of TripHops finest: Ninja Tune !!! (best way to spend those dreaded xmas days alone with your Elektrons)
Also the sweet deal after the 3 day trial to have a full month experience for $1,- !!!
Apart from the fresh inspirational sounds to crawl through.
(no i’m not hyping it, or affilliated - just stoked to see this sample clearance 90s-esque sample revival taking flight)
PS @Elektron Maybe partnering up with them like you did with loopcloud and the DT1, would be cool (as for another incentive and customer appreciation - usb + adapter + iPhone, works like a charm
)
Cheers all
PS: ofcourse there are tedious workarounds to mimick scratching through micro editing etc, but kind of defeats the purpose, instant gratification and hands on interaction with the sample
I am pretty happy with the dt2, but an update before the holidays would be very welcome. I am a bit diasapointed that it takes so long. Stretch and polyphony would be on top of my list. Step sequencing the fx would be great. A bit like the teenage engineering op xy. I love that in the op z which i own. Anyways, just hoping for an update soon.
All I want is mono sampling - why is this taking so long.
Frustrating after Ricky Tinez said it would be in the next update, a couple of updates ago…
Custom sample slices / chop would also be good
Requesting swing per track.
Please make possibility to synchronise song mode for digitone 2 and digitakt 2 , because now song mode usable only if you play from one device… or at least make 16 banks for paterns on digi 2 devices
I could swap my DT1 for your DT2.
Just saying.
TBH I’d really like that as a parallel view of audio tracks 1-8 and 9-16 … or any 8 consecutive tracks. Realised I get much more productive rhythmically on koala (with grid view) than on DT2.
Level/Data knob isnt there on Midi Machine Tracks… having this as a cc assignable knob in midi tracks would be super useful. It would be even better if it was accessible in the mixer page as well.
A lot of hardware synths have a CC assigned for volume/level control. So having a volume knob on a midi controller makes a lot of sense!
after dealing with clock issues from octatrack, 100 bring manual slicing to digi. We aren’t going to see another octatrack so the utility for usb on it is lame duck with only storage transfer. Midi through usb + overbridge makes digi perfectly capable and should replace octa in the manual slicing department
Dear @Elektron,
Please implement the LFO to be able to follow the keyboard like on the A4 so we could do just a little FM, not too much!
Love you, and happy new year!
Fülöp
Imagine the disappointment when I realized my brand new $1000 sampler can’t sample my Aerophone synth in mono.smh
FFS Elektron.
For context, I really REALLY love DT2. Fav piece of gear by a mile atm. Just surprised/disappointed something so simple was omitted on such a brilliant device. I thought I was just ignorant until I searched and confirmed it’s not possible.
If you read only this thread you’d think the DT2 is a unusable buggy mess
I’m happpy with it overall but the biggest add I’d like to see is a live looper machine. I have zero desire to ever use an octatrack and would much prefer a digi approach to live looping. Even just breaking out recording controls via midi cc would be huge.
Also, for those dying for a granular mode can you please explain what it would look like and what controls it would have because imo one shot + LFO time stretch with trigs placed via retrig mode is very granular and better than booooring ableton style grains. Would immediately fall prey to same problems as existing werp and stretch modes. Just gotta use the noggin a bit
As a new Elektron user i really love dt2, but yes manual sample slicing (plus zoom like in record mode and zero crossing) would be amazing. Bump
The grid machine is unusable with the clicks. Not sure why there would be a designated designed workflow (the grid machine) lacking the foundational design element of tiny fades so the sounds would be even remotely usable. Having to specially prepare samples just for use in this machine is absolutely absurd. The sample machines in the Digitakt are there to enhance workflow not hinder it. It is like a horribly designed max device created for a first homework assignment in a music technology undergrad. Add the fades for gods sake
