Fairly new DT2 owner & its changed everything for me. its allowed me to bring all the different sounds of my studio together into a compositional framework, where as, before i had a lot of great separate parts but struggled to weave them all together.
the only 2 things that would make it fully complete for me would be the classic, often requested crossfading & polyphony.
that said, i dont mind having to work around either of those limitations & if no new features ever get added, i am more than content. huge love to the DT2!

I’m pretty sure its been discussed here before, but can we have a “X number of steps per page” feature? This would be so helpful when working with non-4/4 time signatures - say you are working in 7/4, you could specify “14 steps per page” - that way when you switch pages you still see the beats line up correctly, and you don’t have to think “ok measure 2 starts on page 1 step 15 → page 2 step 12, and measure 3 starts on page 2 step 13 → page 3 10, etc”
would you possibly lose steps? sure, but its worth it.

That’s a lot less clicks than my method, thanks. IMHO, pretty much wipes out the ‘you can’t zoom on a one-shot’ complaint.

elready posted this in 2024: On all Elektron machines that have step sequencer, when we put the sequencer scale on per track mode now we choose the number of steps and the active steps will be set in linear manner for example if I set the Track 1 length to be 24 I will have active steps from 1 to 16 on page 1 and from 1 to 8 on page 2,.
Ok my idea is that when we go to track scale if we could choose the accesible steps and the track length will be set accordingly it will be really a great improvement in the elektron sequencer
lets say I want Track 1 to be 24 steps long and I will choose on the track scale page the accesible steps for example in page 1 I will have steps 1 to 12 accessible then in page 2 I will have 1-12 accessible the other steps 13 to 16 will be inactive and the sequencer will jump them. ( if I set step 14 to be active on page 1 the track length will change to 25 ).
and a plus will be to choose the track sequencer play mode ( forward, backward, pingpong, randrom )
so heah I think it is important really

I am proud of myself because this morning I submitted my very first proper feature request. It went like this:
Good morning Campers,
could we please have a parameter locks meter (counter) in Digitakt II? Just a simple line of text such as “p-locks 55 of 80” would do, hidden no matter where in the menu system. The limit of “up to 80” floating around (for instance in the manual p. 47) regretfully does not seem to be particularly reliable, unless aforementioned “80” involves some sort of higher maths dependant on pretty esoteric factors.
By the way, are we one hundred percent sure it is 80 per single pattern within the project, not per entire project?

Performance Mode State Morph: Morph all changed parameters toward their initial state with a macro/shortcut. Bonus points if you can do it the other way (morph all changed parameters toward their max/min) and set a morph curve in the settings.

Update on that: my paper is borderline accepted to DAFx26, working on some revisions now but even the reject and neutral reviewer (pther 2 were accept) said the algo is interesting they just had issue with the framing /test methodology.
Institutional acceptance here we (hopefully) come! Will post the updated listening test later today.

I actually like what the stretch machine does to breaks, I don’t think it was ever meant to do Ableton style warping, which is what everyone seems to be expecting.
My only gripe with stretch machine is that it has a minimum of 1 bar. I’d like to see it go finer than that, eg. 1/2, 1/4, 1/8.

I mean yeah to me its not so much I want ableton style warping, I’m not even a stickler for super clean time stretch algos but its just more so that I haven’t found a way to use it where it doesn’t have this distinct atonal buzzing on each transient that can only be mitigated by lowering volumes lol Also throwing any melodic content you’d like to play with out the window.

Oh yeah, I’m with you on that, I find my breaks get tinny sounding and need the highs rolled off a bit. DT1 did this as well, using the timestretch workaround with an LFO.

A Perform-Kit-Option to turn off the function automatic on pattern change. So we can tweak the pattern for transitions and return to the original state of the new pattern without doing it manually by press Perform-Mode again on the first beat after change. It would be so much fun…I never use the function on tonverk oder Digitakt, because imo it’s missing for live purposes.
