Digitakt II Feature Requests

I unfortunately agree, no slice mode on the digitakt was pretty much the big deterrent from the digi for a lot of people and a big request. Tho I think it would be cool to see the time stretch rolled out on both the tonverk and digi at the same time given they haven’t really implemented a real stretch also outside of the octa (iirc). But then again I could also see them porting the current digi stretch machine to the TV lol

Roll out the DT2 time stretch to the Tonverk?
I think Tonverk users have suffered enough already

I’m pretty sure that the digi 2 won’t ever have timestretch, they like to separate functions and if the digi had timestretch say bye to new octatrack sales and even tonverk because it would blow the versatility out of the water, the form factor is huge, a small box with timestretch? Come on.

I have a feeling a new and awesome soundpack drops sooner than we think > :nyan: <

people said this about slicing… for years lol but no you might be right, that said tho given time stretch as a basic feature in a lot of samplers people wanting a time stretch that isn’t a clicky damn near atonal mess isn’t negating to the current state of the octatrack in my opinion. And even by omission of them calling the stretch machine “stretch” mode, probably had a lot of original octa users moving to the dt2 off the name alone. Time will tell. :man_shrugging:

Midi control of fill parameter (s) so i can add fills with a footswitch while i jam… It really makes things sound more spontanious and song like.

I only have two hands and I would like to retire my SR16.

Will we ever get another update?

You know the workaround ? Turn it into a slice machine, 2 slices (you can’t choose 1), delete the last slice, on SRC page create a slice YES, YES, FUNC+> (thank you @vanitykane) and you can then zoom and trim to your hearts content.

I’ll say it again, but the fact there’s a slice mode but no “lazy chop” is egregious. They wouldn’t even have to change the interface for it at all!!

As for timestretch the simple algo isn’t the problem IMO it’s the way the controls are implemented that make it uninspiring. I still use the “hack” to sync loops simply because it feels creative and fun while serving the same utility.

Sorry what are you talking about? The digitakt 2 literally has dedicated machines that handle time stretching in various ways. Stretch, werp, and repitch are right there offering various approaches.

I know it’s not in the slice mode the way OT2 has grid mode with bpm timesync, but its totally wrong to say it doesnt have timestretch…

fyi (at least) on the new dt2 firmware shipped within the last couple months, while in slice mode you can click “func + yes” >> edit slice points >> and “func + [>]” and it should manually create a slice iirc. Not near my digi rn so ill try it again and edit if I’m wrong

Yeah, what I’m saying, they don’t really work how they could and how people expected them to. I like to sample on my digitakt 1 and hear the deformities that result from the slice or werp machines, I couldn’t come up with those results even if I tried so I like them but it’s very distant from any norm.

it is what it is. this is their approach to timestretch, its more than usable and they give a few styles

respectfully where are these styles you speak of lol

what?

There are three time stretch/bpm sync modes on DT. Each is a different ‘style’ in that it approaches timestretch/bpm sync differently.

Add Capture Feature like on Ableton Move !!!

Nothing to see here, move on I guess. Not talking about click free time stretch again. You have closed that topic… thank you

Poor fella that made an effort developing an algorithm that could be implemented by elektron.
