I wasn’t either, very nice surprise
fwiw, things are sounding much better in this update. My Melodic Samples are sounding and behaving how i expect them to sound with in the Grid Device.
No annoying Pops on the looping patterns…adjusting the Attack in the ADSR seems to work as well. Thanks Elektron!
Now i can finally use the DT2 the way i always wanted to use it
Somewhat off topic, what’s the External Battery and Power Cable for the battery everyone has determined is the best solution to make the DT2 portable now?
wow, really? that’s awesome / very encouraging
would love to see one of your videos demonstrating the polished grid machine
Overdub lobbyist !
Le Parti Overdub.
I wasn’t either very nice, surprise.
The comma makes all the difference.
The USB audio currently works only over ASIO Digitone 2 driver. How to make it work:
-Select it as your interface, configure inputs in DAW (there seems to be 21 stereo inputs for some reason),
-Enable overbridge in system settings on Digitone
-Disable every audio channel except effects in audio routings on Digitone
-Disable int to main on Digitone
Everything works including FX on separate stereo channels or summed stereo FX. Only thing I can’t get to work is the metronome. Or well, couldn’t get it so sync to DAW clock either for some reason but that might have been my error.
I’ve noticed that Elektronauts didn’t crash, the new platform seems to work.

I did think of you @sezare56 when I saw it
Personally I love the overwriting mode since it’s like a midi looper where you can record some quick or even random notes and then start to put other notes and melodies “on top” or replace the first recording completely without stopping. Great for jamming. But having overdub is great too and makes sure you don’t ruin your original sequence.
I could be imagining it, but I am now testing this a bit with breaks, and it seems like it actually transient slices breaks, but keeps close to the grid slice. This is a really fast way to chop up breaks. Not really sure how well it does with melodic samples yet, though.
PS Finally able to resample the amen break left channel to mono, and per desired steps precisely, dear god, thank you!

Great for jamming
And composing in a “random” way !
16 notes per trig on DN2…
Now my feature request is probability per note, not per trig !

It seems like it actually transient slices breaks, but keeps close to the grid slice.
It occurs to me that if they changed the slicing at all, they might muck up the tuning of wavetables. So I’d guess that either they haven’t changed the algorithm, or they have some magic way to tell the difference between wavetable slicing and break slicing.
I know this was asked nearer the beginning of the thread but…
Without having a DN2 Overbridge plugin available - how do I access the 16 channels of audio?
I can’t find a way to in in Ableton.
If someone could give me a quick pointer I’m sure it’ll become clear and I can crack on.
Cheers for any help - especially if it isn’t RTFM.
Clicks are gonna be the new lusted-after digital “crunch” sound in 25 years.
There is a separate bug fix line for wavetable clicks, so who knows. I have to say that by my limited testing, at least with drums the Grid is very good now. It is not a proper slice replacement, but in it’s own right it’s good.

So far it’s sound good to my ears with the Melodic Samples I’m loading into the Grid machine…
I’m in a lead certification class all day and it’s driving me mad.
You need to use it with overbridge as a sound card
