The benefit comes from the combination of the two behaviors playing off each other (both ways now) and how you can use that in a live performance setting for quick changes. E.g. changing the p-lock trigs back non p-lock state.

Yeh, same - I was going to sell my OG to fund the II but they are going for like 360GBP on ebay right now (and not selling!), rather keep it!

Overdub recording for the DN2 with its note-level microtiming per step truly elevates the sequencer. And the new chord mode is a monster.

The main benefit is that It works per page too, so you can “transpose” all p-locks on certain pages of your seq.

Clicks could sometimes occur when playing back a sample using the WERP and GRID machines. and
Playing wavetables using GRID machine could sometimes introduce clicks and artefacts.
does that mean DT now automatically detect zero crossing points or introduces micro fade ?

I was thinking they were going to put key tracking under the Mod menu (previously envelope) but I’m happy it’s considered the same type of functionality as modwheel or velocity. That’s a big wishlist feature for me.
Now we can simulate how old samplers worked when pitching up and down the samples by slowing and the clock speed. Point the pitch tracking to the SRR and it should give a similar effect.
