Hi, I connect an external keyboard via (midi in) to the Digitone and the mod wheel and Pitch Bend work perfectly.
If I connect the Digitakt (midi out) to the Digitone (midi in) and the external keyboard to the Digitakt (midi in); the Digitone receives all the notes but no modulation or Pitch Bend signal arrives.
The DT doesn’t support mod wheel or pitchbend, neither in or passthru. It’s been in the requested features list since ages and Elektron seems to ignore it.
Yeah it is a little weird, the Digitone MIDI channels don’t pass sustain nor pitch and mod wheel, but you can Plock them via the SYN2(?) screen… kinda sad…
Yes elektron - please do it! I really like to have it. I mean Digitakt is perfect as the core of a set up, but why no pitch bend and mod wheel then? Digitone is worth its money alone for 8-voice external sequencing plus 3 cool effects, …. but!? So what could be the explanation for this lack of controlling?
I’d love to see modwheel, breath control, and aftertouch macros on the Digitakt sample tracks (as well as the AR). This would especially help when using the Digitakt in a MIDI loopback as in addition to having 8 extra LFOs, you get the added convenience of being able to modulate multiple parameters with a single LFO (or control, or p-lock on the MIDI track, whatever) and all without having to mess around with CCs which is a slight drag.
Dave Mech has a great tutorial about using the Digitakt MIDI tracks to control the Digitone in this manner - it would be great to see this kind of macro system be implemented consistently across the Elektron range.
Hello, I’m glad to come across this topic because I was starting to wonder what wasn’t working. I fully support this request, it would be very convenient if the Digitakt could let pass thru controls like pitch bend, mod wheel, and perhaps even allow to record those messages into a sequence on the SRC page using an external keyboard.
