Ooph I have gas for the Delia
I hadn’t looked too deeply into the Nina, mostly b/c of the price. But now the Delia with lower price and keybed is looking really sweet.
I’ve been getting into wavetable synths and finding out that this has a wavetable Osc mixed with 2 va and a noise/fuzz thing looks really fun
Hmm
The workflow looks enjoyable. My hardest time with the Super 6 was how easy it was to set modulations and how hard it was to change/track them down after that. Seems like a small screen and motorized knobs really helps with all that.
For those looking for a chance to experience the DELIA or the NINA ( or whatever ? ) in person, i see Melbourne Instruments will be at these shows soon :
Would you mind articulating why not? Without that info, your post doesn’t really contribute anything.
I hope Delia (and Nina) does well. I feel like it’s been overshadowed by other recent releases that don’t offer that much that brings synths forward. Delia imo does and they should be the talk of the town.
Also, the fact that they’re offering a version of their synth that has keys and costs substantially less, while most existing synths only increase in price these days, should be applauded.
i heard the demos and it sounds like a lot of other stuff - seems a bit pricey to me for what it is
maybe i am an elektron whore or a vintage roland whore - in fact not maybe
so i am biased

I also don’t think the demos sound great. But the same holds true for Nina, and the thing sounds phenomenal to me in person. Yes, it doesn’t sound ground breaking. And at it‘s heart it’s still a straightforward analog poly. But that is true for a lot of other expensive synths, and Nina and Delia add wavetables, which brings a whole new flavor.
But yes, you buy them more for workflow than for sheer sound (I’d say that about Elektron as well). I get shit done when I use them, because Incan easily recall stuff and try out more because it’s so much easier to understand things. That’s the most important thing to me. But the sound is still pretty great.
When you want a Main Analog Polysynth, the choice is hard to make. Every Synth has something to offer others don’t have. The reasons behind your choice are very personal but having a 12-Voice, 4-Part multitimbral (I’ll get use to it) analog Synth with Motorized knobs, awesome FXs and an outstanding Sound is hard to resist. And the fact that you have awesome FXs on it means that you don’t have to look elsewhere for FXs.
