Deepest portable synth experience

Hi Guys,

Id like to get a synth that is truly portable – ideally it would be opxy sized, but with much deeper synth engines – synthesizer that offers comprehensive sound design on device. I know about the microfreak, but my impression is that its a grab bag of minimally tweakable engines. The hydrasynth explorer seems closer, but i my impression of that is that its too big to travel with. Are there any other options? Id like to pair a bento with this imaginary synth.

Thank you!

With or without keys and/or sequencer? In other words. Can Bento act as keyboard and midi sequencer for this imaginary setup?

Ableton Move has Drift, wavetable, and sampling, plus whatever you can do with the 3rd party hacks and rnbo.

it can, yes! But if there were something with small keys and comparable power id prefer that slightly!

And yeah, doesnt need sequencer!

yeah benton covers sampling and wavetable fairly well, so i dont think it would be a huge net positive.

Sound design is way overrated. Get something with a lot of sweetspots instead. Think of a workflow rather than twiddling small knobs(excuse me?).

I thought the 1f was like the opxy in that it was mostly shallow but well designed synth engines?

digitone is the same form factor as the syntakt and stuff right? so its not really usable on the go.

cant stand manipulating parameters with a touch screen.

I’ll try this summer with dt2 and dn2 combo. It can fit in one backpack.

this might be the right answer!

yeah, I dont find it very fun to do sound design on the m8, but i need to play with combo. Im thinking of getting rid of the m8 now that I have the bento, which is just easier for me to use.
