Could not remember where from

ah, that must be why i didnt hear about it hahaha

Good news is it’s still worth $25! I paid way more in 2005 and have milked some much use out of it.

Free 1176 style compressor plugin if you register for the newsletter. Not tried the VST yet but the deal worked.

This is the full URL in case you are sus about short URL’s (as I am!):

VSTBuzz has a deal on IrcamLAB TS2. It’s an audio editor with very good timestreching and pitchshifting algos. I use it to process samples as well as slow down songs that I want to learn on the guitar

And AudioPluginDeals has Sugar Bytes Guitarist on sale for $39.99.

keen to hear if it’s perhaps been developed more and maybe more user friendly (i.e. less cpu intensive) since a while back when at same launch price - it was promising but completely unworkable on my elderly i7 mini

you know, for me it works quite well, I haven’t had any performance issues (Macbook Pro 15", mid 2012, 2.3GHz i7), but then my usage isn’t very demanding either. I think there’s a demo of the latest release, have you tired that to see if things work better for you now?

Given the power of this editor, 29€ is a total steal in my book (I too bought it when it was released at that price), but of course you want it to be usable!

This makes me go hmmm (power of the IRCAM brand/legacy, maybe), but I wonder…
what does it do that I can’t do in a DAW?

The time stretching is the smoothest I’ve heard, and audio files can be split into their noise and tonal components. You can also automate the different params of the stretch algo individually. I don’t use it a lot, but when I do I always get something interesting out of it.
