I have massive nostalgia for the old prince of persia… such nice memories with my buddy 386. I’m afraid to start an emulator because you know, don’t meet your heroes, and I feel the same for the new one. Do you feel like it’s a worthy sequel?
Same here. Even more then Prince, i am huge fan of Flashback and Another World before it
You said “you guess” ubisoft receives funds from usaid? based on what, vibes? cursory google search shows nothing.
after all these years I just found out another world had a squeal “Heart of the Alien” !
Well Flashback had Fade to Black
Another World was awesome. One of the best games ever.
Right, it’s a guess. I also say that I don’t have any facts in the next post. I also have nothing to win or lose here.
Please keep the bizarro 4chan content out of this thread. Would be a shame if it would be locked.
Let‘s rather remember awesome games from the past, like Interstate 76.
Let’s forget about it.
Maybe i can also recommend game Prey from 2007.
Beautiful scifi horror game
Yeah let’s, anyone can guess their way to any conclusion they want.
I love the original Rayman, and do like the two 2D sequels. Loved Unreal on the Amiga, loved my Guillemot hardware, I did briefly enjoy the first 3D PoP game they did. Once they hit the AC series (even the first) I just completely lost interest.
I’m more into things from id, formerly Arkane, formerly Irrational, Looking Glass, original Monolith, etc. sad that almost all of them are dead now.
I miss the scrappy little studios with coding enthusiasts that wanted to build optimized games, try out interesting ideas, and just make fun games.
These megastudio, megapublisher arrangements rarely work out these days.
Have you played tunic , bzzzt , meat boy etc … those small teams / individual devs still exist.
Yeah, i feel you. I work for one of mega publishers.
There are still some incredible projects being made by solo devs or very small teams. In terms of substance, the most impactful and interesting gaming experiences I’ve had in the last ten years (with one notable exception coming to mind) all came from very small teams or solo devs. I don’t think that’s going to change for as long as people still have the resources and freedom to pursue making new games independently.
As it goes with movies, music, food and just about everything, there’s a certain size point for companies, above which everything just gets shittier.
I am of same thinking for couple of years now.
Though still loooved cyberpunk 2077, and waiting for gta6.
Something in gta games wakes up my nostalgia for good old times.
I even think there have never been so many.
I worked for Microsoft Game Studios in 2003ish. I did hardware compatibility and cert testing for Freelancer, Halo PC, Rise of Nations, and a few others while I was there. At that time though, they still felt like the underdog at least in the games field, so it was ALMOST like not working for a huge software company at the time. I’ve worked at other divisions there though, and it was EXACTLY like working for a large software company.
Now I wouldn’t touch them with any length of pole, cattle prod, etc. I do networks and systems now for a steel company, and like that much more.
I am more of a art guy, so i almost never deal with internal politics of a company.
Just painting with pixels
