Complicated electronic music

Hi,

I‘m in search of „complicated“ electronic music.
For example it can have polyrythms/polymeters or be microtonal, have fast shifting patterns.
It can also be exhausting to listen to.

Thanks

(PS. the usual suspects like Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, Squarepusher, Autechre are known. I would like to see, what‘s also out there… it can be obscure…)

I checked out the track you posted. I like it. I also went to listen to more Sevish on Spotify, and this came up under “fans also like”:

I don’t think this fits the description of what you’re asking for, but I thought I should report back to this thread after going down the weirdest music rabbit hole I’ve been down in a while

Make sure to hear the sax solo about a minute in. It’s actually good

Yes, it‘s funny, but it‘s not so much what I‘m looking for… it should be electronic and not some jazz players in a van :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahaaa I know them, they make sick stuff! Funny concept, but it only works because they actually make good music.

I kinda wish they would ride out some grooves a little longer though

Edit: @ooli I would argue that their sound is pretty heavily electronic.

Yeah, well apparently Sevish fans also like them

Saxophone & drum kit? Live played in a band context? No, that‘s not electronic enough for my taste. If so, I could put also some bands in here, but that‘s not what I‘m searching for.

Thanks for introducing me to Clown Core @ooli! an hour later and I’m still listening to them

My neighbor’s friend made this. Not my favorite, but fits your description.

And Squarepusher definitely fits the OP description ^^

Here are two albums with a lot of polymetric/rhythmic stuff in.

I would also recommend checking artists like don’t DJ or the label Spazio Disponibile.

Jim O’Rourke’s Steamroom stuff might fit the bill. Complex and gorgeous.
This is just a few recent faves, but it’s all worth a listen:

Also - Roland Kayn perhaps, if you want the more old/academic side. It gets pretty intense.

The newly rereleased TEKTRA is great btw.

No microtonality or polyrythms but crazy patterns switchings, crazy production level, oversaturated maximalism stuff, “complicated” and user friendly :

Oh of course! Now that you say it it’s so obvious! And Grendel on sax.
The video style is obviously Cole’s.
Hadn’t recognized them!
