Compatible power banks for TV

What are the specs on the power bank you are using successfully with the TV?

Tonverk needs 45W output minimum with a power delivery profile of 15V @ 3A. The Anker Nano 45W would be a good choice for a power bank

Most power banks and chargers are delivering power at 5V @ 3A (including the Anker Zolo and Nano). 15V is a lot for USB-C, and I would expect that to be delivered through a dedicated DC jack where a RipCord could be used. I’m dense, but wondering if 15V is really the required voltage?

Most power banks and chargers are delivering power at 5V @ 3A

Power banks support several output profiles, 5V @ 3A is just one of them, 15V @ 3A is another profile

Page 77 of the manual says the recommended power supply specs:

USB C PD, 15V, 3.0A, 45W

All 3 of those numbers are required basically at minimum, so a battery needs at least these specs or it won’t power on

Look up “power delivery”, it’s a USB-C protocol where the correct voltage to be delivered gets negotiated and the source (power bank in this case) adjusts its voltage accordingly. A PD powerbank can make a bunch of different voltages and 15V is one of the standard ones.

Thanks, mates! I’m dense, but I understand. Seems like this is a step in the right direction for power.

You can more or less ignore the 45W that is just the 15V * 3A and not often listed on the spec of a battery. Most batteries will list watt hrs or even more likely milliwatt hours so they have a “big” number but that is just battery capacity, ie 90W/hr battery would be 2 hours of tonverk if it was always pulling 45W (likely pulls less most of the time).

Right, I mentioned at minimum because if someone buys a battery listed as USB C PD 60W or 100W, they can still get that and use it fine with the Tonverk. I should’ve specified the 45W specifically being the minimum. The wattage rating is however often included in the product titles and that’s important to note, ex.

Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W

Anker Laptop Power Bank (25K, 165W, Built-In and Retractable Cables)

The laptop power bank wattage rating is much higher than the 45W recommendation ,but that is just its max output. The tonverk manual says its typical consumption is 20W, but they still recommend to get 45W, likely for power consumption fluctuations and headroom

Just thought I’d do a topic as I have an extensive array of them , well about 10. All seem to work with no issues for TV.

My Kingston 256gb card has no issues either, find this brand to be reliable and cheap.

But back to power banks , anybody had any issues ?
Any caveats ?

I’m using the same INIU power bank that I use with my DN2. Works just fine on Tonverk with supplied usbc cable. TV seems to drain it a bit faster than DN2.

looking at amazon for 20000mAh, 65W, i see on no one any infos vs. the 15V.
is 15V nowadays a common standard ?

can i literally take any of em. Let´s say Anker or Iniu ( 65W )

I´d like to take one that works with a DT2 and the TV ( powering one at a time) if anybody could point me to a specific model.
Iniu has a small model:

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/External-Batteries-Compatible-MacBook-Surface/dp/B0DB895CWT?s=ce-de

would this fit ?

or this:

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Portable-Charger-Charging-Battery-MacBook/dp/B0CXDXP8VR?s=ce-de

Ha that’s the one m using at the moment , yes it does zap it a bit.

Ravpower ones are my fav but they got banned from Amazon for soliciting reviews. Too bad as their power banks are great.

Could you tell me what model this is? I got a DNII recently and wanted to get a power bank for travel.

Also the cord needed to connect if you have a recommendation.

I’m in the USA.

yeah sure…

I used the usbc cable that comes with the Tonverk.

Sorry!

I had some issues with the power supply and support gave me this information, in case it helps you.

“Tonverk needs a USB-C PD charger that provides at least 12V at 1.5A. So you may have a compatible one at home - for example, a MacBook or newer iPad USB-C charger.”

I use these for DN2, OTmk2,DT…

I use the same one for DTII and it works great! I use it with a 90 degree adapter for a lower profile.

Thank you for sharing this link. I will have one delivered today and I’m leaving town tomorrow for a quick beach trip. I haven’t even had time to unbox my TV yet, but I look forward to learning it poolside!

They have been good solid cables. There are others available on Amazom and such but these have proven to be reliable over the 3-4 years I have been using them.
