Comments about your music

thought starting a thread for sharing comments about your music, the best ones, the worst ones or just the ones you would like to share.

couple of mine:

after playing some of my rytm recordings to a group of close friends:

  • well, this sure isn’t for everyone, maybe it’s an acquired taste…
    :skull_and_crossbones:

and another one

  • Try to add a kick and sidechain the bass to it.
sure thing buddy, I’m on it!

on the other hand, couple from social platforms:

  • this sounds really cool. I have never heard music like that before
  • The screen could remain black, i’d always come back for more of your music

Someone told me they thought my music made them feel like they were looking in a funhouse mirror. I thought it was an astute observation.

Did an open mic the other week in Derby.

The whole thing was livestreamed on YouTube.

The live chat was not keen…

Although, this being Britain, nobody was particularly rude, but it was clear it didn’t go down well.

I think I remember someone describing it as “quite experimental” and one person said I was looking at the Lyra’s manual on my phone, which was pretty funny. But most were just like “I’ll be back when this guy’s finished”.

To be fair, it didn’t go down particularly well in the room either, not my best gig.

I’ve had all sorts of feedback over the years.

One of my bands in the early 2000s that was instrumental and used a drum machine would often get comments telling us to get a drummer or singer but we just carried on doing what we wanted to.

I just feel they did not get what we did and we looked to improve but on our own terms.

First time I’ve performed sober.

Won’t make that mistake again…

The best, as google translated it to me…

"You will sleep. Don’t try to fight it. You will sleep. You will find peace in your sleep. You will sleep. OK OK- I’m done.

I have to say - and I mean it when I say it - I love it. It was done very well and I can see the gods around me now so I thank you for that."

Looks like he’s British.

We do seem to have more than our fair share of these sorts of cumsponges.
