I used it to process yamaha reface cp and sampled it in DT II. Also for Pro 800 sequenced from DT II.
Not sure if I am a fan of the CC yet. I like it but I might have prefered an AHFX, notably the filter part. However it does enhance the Pro 800 that has no onboard FX and it is very fun to use
I’ve started messing with the Drift parameter on various engines, and it can produce some interesting results. With the Pitch Shift engine at +0, you can dial in a chorus sound by tweaking the Drift and Mix settings. This allows you to keep the overall signal at full wet. That chorus or Phaser would probably sound good on the 800
I can confirm this phasing issue. It seems unlikely it’s a fault with individual units, and possibly a problem with the algorithm itself. I also can hear it in YT review videos.
phasing I notice if it is not 100% wet and on specific algos such as tape / vibrato, but it phases because it is because the pitch is modified , etc. Makes sense to me.
I mostly have it on the Cascade delay, sounds like when a delay is on purpose very left panned. The Reels delay is way more balanced and provides a distinct ping-pong feel.
I don’t think the color scheme works well with black. But I also find black gear just incredibly boring. Still, CC seems to be designed for that old school medical equipment beige.
Same here. Hologram has done some cool alternate color schemes for the Microcosm, but the black CC isn’t doing anything for me. I like my OG beige CC.
In an unrelated note, I was playing the Chroma on guitar today and experimenting with the Squash effect. I’ve typically just used Filter for the character slot because I don’t like the low end on guitar ringing out. I was shocked how much fun it was to play to the compressor (after distortion in the chain). You have to dial it in for how much dynamics you want, but once you get it set (I had it around 9-10 o’clock on the dial), it’s pretty great. You can dig in and get some burn from the distortion, but without the huge swings in volume. It’s quite useable.
