I assumed this meant CC, since there’s not really a notion of “fx chains” to reorder in Microcosm.
gotcha. yeah I agree with the sentiment above (and I think I already said this further up-thread) that it’d be confusing. or potentially so. enough that I doubt they’d do it.
Yeah, I kinda wish I could get a filter and cassette FX in the same chain. I could sacrifice Movement for that. In principle, I could just put an EQ pedal upstream of the Chroma Console, though.
This is the Electra One preset I made for it. It could be bidirectional if I wanted to set it up that way but I’m not that ambitious. For other units I have the program changes set too, but keeping this one simple enough for now.
Looks nice.
I’m currently trying to decide what to do with all the “other functions” that you rarely want to change (calibration, bypass modes, routing…). I think I’ll make them available, but “block” them by default, but need to find a nice way to put this.
I decided not to include the “other functions” with the exception of the filter mode.
It’s got randomizers for the params, levels, modes and mix settings.
It can recall PGMs. If a PGM other than “none” is selected, it will just recall the program and not send the settings (they will be greyed out).
Please test before and please report if anything is not working properly ! CF_Chroma_Console_Controller 1.01.amxd (246.6 KB)
Sorry if it was already answered, but I’m wondering if Chroma Console records quantised gestures and loops in sync with midi clock (like 1-2 bar, or even short 1/16 or 1/4 loops )?
And if so, is it possible to speed it up or down after recording also in sync with clock (like make recorded loop 2x or 4x faster or slow down gestures like 8x times)?
That looks amazing. I’ve futzed with Max and done panels for things like 0-Coast but haven’t got close to this level of pretty. Look forward to trying it out when back in the studio.
This is really cool, thanks for sharing! Do you know if the lights for what effect is active on Chromaconsole will change when you change it via you plugin?
Yes it does.
What it doesn’t do is reflect the changes on the computer when you move knobs on the hardware, but that’s simply impossible as the pedal doesn’t send any midi unfortunately. I’ve sent a feature request, so maybe in the future.
Also made a feature request to change the order of the FXs which is not currently possible.
Ah, er. Adding it to a channel with an External Instrument talking to Chroma Console appeared to leave the pedal in a state of “all buttons red”, from which I could not recover with a reboot.
I mashed buttons in the control till it stopped. Now it’s working great. If only I had a printed manual for the CC to tell me what “all red” was…
Thanks for testing, I’ll have a look !
Not sure it’s related, but I noticed that my unit would get frozen with some cables (usb-C to usb-A). How is yours connected?
Hey.I got a chroma console a couple of days ago and I must say I like it a lot so far. There’s one thing that I don’t understand so far. Sometimes when fiddling around, one (ore more) effect knob(s) blinks in another color every…beats. For instance, when cascade is active, the red light blinks blue every 5 beats or so.
Can’t seem to find anything on this behaviour in the manual.
Any thoughts?
Does anyone know if there are any stores selling this in Chicago? I’m travelling here in October and would save a bunch on buying there vs ordering it to Sweden
Was also thinking whether you could just order it to an adress. No idea about delivery times in the US, maybe someone from there can chime in. I‘d expect around 2-3 days, I think they’re fast. I have no experience with customs when buying stuff in the US and bringing that back to the EU, might be a bit tricky.
