How does midi clock sync work with Chroma Console?
Anyone tried it
I had a brief play today but couldn’t see anything syncing up…

Have you had a chance to check the EQ issue yet ?

@drxcm: Mine receives MIDI clock just fine. I don’t remember having to do anything in the MIDI settings, but you might want to check that part of the manual. Maybe there’s some setting that deactivated Clock receive.

The clock seems tight to me.

Sorry @Azzarole, I’ve been busy preparing a Live Performance and I’ve been sick until today. Thanks for reminding me!

Get well soon ! Are you posting about how your live sets work somewhere on here (gear, process, level of impro)?

edit: here’s Hologram’s response, they confirmed the EQing:

“So the Tilt features are active even when Amount is all the way down, so long as the module is active (a colored LED is on). That’s normal! Gives you the ability to do the tone sculpting characteristics of the effects without the drive, saturation, fuzz, etc.

Also just want to point out that we recommend using Chroma Console at 100% mix! Certainly encourage mixing in dry signal for taste in some settings, but we definitely designed it with it being used at 100% MIX in mind.“

Thank you, I’m already better!:pray:

I was about to as my Live Performance was last Saturday/Sunday. It went really well. People were crazy about the Performance.

Got mine yesterday. Haven’t worked out how to do any secondary functions or the gesture stuff yet - get the button combos but can’t work out if I’ve activated the modes. Otherwise have had a blast with it so far.

Got it as a Xmas pressie from the missus (never thought she would ever buy me more music gear as she thinks I’m mental, haha, and then she bought me one of these ). Don’t think she had slightest clue what it is but just liked how it looked.

Been sampling my S2400 drums, Behringer Edge and Korg Prologue through the Chroma yesterday. Definitely adds a lo-fi vibe.

I have a Push 3, so have questioned if it really replaces anything FX wise. Like Roar in Live 12 is a very very comprehensive drive effect and Chroma doesnt really compete. But its loads of fun and does sound good when you blend the 4 FX in subtle ways. Whilst I agree the reverb isn’t amazing, it does sound ok and the other delays sound pretty good to me. The drives are nice actually and again sum of all 4 parts is what makes this a really immediate box.

Despite everything almost at my finger tips with the Push 3, the Chroma Console seems like a more immediate way to add flavour to my sounds. Look forward to experimenting more.

Seems like this thing was hot for a minute, then nothing. Anyone still happy they got it?

I absolutely love mine on my guitar and bass. It’s loads of fun to take to the jam session and very easy to dial in tones I want. I’d say it stands up to my friend’s fully stocked pedal board.

I’ve spent several hours using it on my Rev 2, and I’m not in love with how it sounds on synths. The distortion always feels too heavy handed. The reverb/delay are fine for pads, but everything else is harder to dial in for me. It may be better suited as a master recording effect or for plucks and arps rather than pads.

I still think it’s a great pedal, and I do agree with @cogsy in pretty much every aspect. The FX do sound best with guitar, for synths or drum machines it’s a bit hit or miss.

I’d be getting one to use with guitar/bass looping alongside my other stuff anyway

I actually have only used it on my Prophet 5 so far. and I adore it. “color” effect is definitely a very good way to describe it. it just feels like another layer of sculpting the synth sound. and I agree with the “it replaces a bunch of pedals” sort of feeling. while being super simple. no Chase Bliss DIP switch BS here (though I love those too).

Yeah, it’s an awesome device and it’s really useful to be able to record gestures.

I’ve had the opposite experience. It’s been really cool with my drum machines. Being able to re-order modules makes a big difference.

Me too.

Strange thing was…I first looked on Reverb for one, but getting a new one direct from Hologram was cheaper than most of the used ones

Is there ling waiting time from Hologram right now? Might explain it. Otherwise, the scalpers sometimes miss when something has become widely available and don’t update their offers accordingly.

I agree with what’s been written, I also still really like mine. I‘d miss some functions if it was my only pedal or way of getting effects. But I prefer they opted for a clear interface without tons of sub menu options that could distract and frustrate you. I‘m only using it on synths and, most of all, drums these days and think it works fine. The reverse delay is really cool for drums, tremolo, drive or sweeten can also be. I really like the combo of delay and pitch for synths, can give you a second layer. Having the filter is really useful for performing, mine is always at the end and set to high pass. It might be nothing special overall, but really useful, fun and high quality.

I hate how people do this on Reverb, list something used as more expensive than you can buy it for new, and I keep seeing it.

I really hope people aren’t foolish enough to give any of these idiots money.

Anyhow, I love my Chroma. The effects sound great, and I pretty much have it on everything I record into my computer, even if just touching it a little bit.

Shipping in less than a week from Hologram.

I wish Hologram would just offer their pedals in black as a standard option.
