I saw a video the other day using one with a Pro-800 and was thinking that, rather than guitar, where this will really shine is synths without onboard effects, where you want a pretty compact, all-in-one solution. MS-20 is a good example of this.
Sorry!
I think this is spot on. Tried it on Rev2 first time yesterday and it’s a match made in heaven. Rev2 effects suck imo, and having these retro-ish/modern effects to go with it is perfect. I will definitely bring it with me to my next duo session, where I just plug one synth into a pedal. Only possible downer is that you have to decide between delay and reverb.
So has everyone gotten theirs by Christmas now?
I’m still in honeymoon phase. My favorite is still playing around with combinations of delay and pitch, with some variation of the drive algos. Wish I had more control though, especially for the delay. Still really love it running into Gen Loss, gave this pedal a second life for me.
Of course loving something on a piece of gear ironically makes me GAS for other dedicated things again. I really seem to love playing with combinations of pitch and delay, so maybe Thermae would still be something for me, even if it’s mono, has a confusing UI and almost every demo sounds like terrible nonsense. And if Gen Loss sounds so good after Chroma, what would Lossy sound like? But yeah, I think I have it in check due to limited desk space and rationalizations.
Nice! Looking forward to trying this on my Rev 2 to get away from the onboard reverb/delay.
Question: Doesn’t Chroma already have a wonky tape delay FX? So I’m wondering why have Generation Loss after it in the chain. Unless it’s additional mojo or the GL tape FX is better
Imo Gen Loss is way better and has a lot more control and option. Chroma’s lo fi effects are alright but way too obvious for my taste. And it’s the only effect that only has one (!) knob. It was smart to include these effects, but Gen Loss just does them a lot better.
I’ve got the Lossy and it pairs very nicely with the chroma console. Since we both live in the same city, you should come to my place and check it out, but bring your gen loss, as I’m very curious about that pedal as well
Random people on the internet asking me to show me their pedal if I show them mine? That’s a deal, let’s do this in January!
Can i see a pic of the power supply adaptor?
Perfect thank u @Tchu ! Approx how thick? Just wondering how it will fit inside my pedalboard woohoo.
1 1/2 inch.
FYI just received an email from Hologram and there’s a firmware update available for this thing. It brings it up to 1.03. They have an online utility available to facilitate the upgrade.
Waw already an update. I wish they would update the MC as well…
The chroma console is perfect for a small pedalboard… but it’s too tall for my pedalboard case
It’d be nice if someone makes a deck saver for it, so I can chuck it in a backpack without worrying for the knobs.
Weird, I didn’t get any email about this
just got mine and its fun but I keep wanting to do things that are not possible
individual parameter midi implementation would allow most of the things I want to do with it but some things I’m not sure are possible like if you want to chain fx that are in these categories, like sweeten + drive or tape echo + reverb or filter + cassette etc.
hopefully hologram will get into things like software editors, oleds & encoders someday
I was wondering if anyone else has received their Chroma Console from the January batch?
Im feb batch but occasionally im on the fence. Where does it stand in your mind? Will you keep it?
I bought this for my son I’m just borrowing it for now
if it were mine its too early to tell
here’s a quick noodle, its routed wrong right now so the quality is poo, I need to find some cables and setup a bus on the bluebox for the pedals, there’s some other pedals on the left too dark to see them…
Perfect thx. Im getting the sense that many are in this place. I havent cancelled yet!
