Music Frozen Dancing is happening at the Empty Bottle today. I’ve been a bunch of times in years past, and I always enjoy it. Usually an interesting mix of bands and other music, and it looks like Egyptian Lover is there this year. And yes, this is an outdoor concert in the middle of winter, so remember to wear pants.
Just saw Autechre is coming to Chicago in October. Tickets are on sale tomorrow.

MaryMary! uses an MPC, a Model:Cycles & a few Moogs live, and I play on a DT + DNK combo with a Roland VT-4 for vocals, plus a few master effects for performance.
I’ll be playing mostly material from my debut album that came out in February, which is up on Bandcamp & streaming services if you’re curious.

I’m playing this Sunday afternoon in the ESS garden! Stretchmetal puts on a lot of cool ambient shows and I’m excited to do something with them.
I’m doing it under my OVC alias and going on around 4pm. My setup is going to be MPC live, SSL Six, and H90.

I should have posted the events here, but last night I went to Podlasie Club early (6pm) for “So Ambient” - new ambient night where folks are sitting on the dance floor listening to loud sets of DJ and live ambient and adjacent music on the club system.
I stuck around for the “Hood Drumkit Anthemz” night particularly for the live set by Noise Shrine - she had a Digitakt, laptop, maybe mixer and FX pedals to create this real wall of sound that had a cool lurching quality, must have been using some weird loop lengths on the Digitakt.
