Calibration scheduled?

Hi everybody,
I buyed an used Rytm mk1 and at first switch on it asks me to run warm up calibration…
i answerd yes but it was only a reminder…
than I’ve tried from menu and the answered me calibration Scheduled…?
than I upgrade the software to 1.07 but there is the same problem.
The machine works but it’s impossible to calibrate…

someone has an idea?

thanks everybody I’m new in this forum:-)

you mean 1.70? because warmup calibration was added in 1.70, just wanted to make sure…

if it is 1.70 make sure to run it while the rytm is warmed up a bit, turn it on for about 20-30 minutes before running the calibration, there’s also a thread for this, worth checking there

yes 1.70 and I ve waited Long time to warm the machine…but nothing

Just to check, are you using the right power adapter for your Rytm?

I have accidentally used another Elektron model’s with different reqs and had the Calibration fail to start for that reason.

don’t think I’ve seen this error message reported here on the forum, I would open a ticket with support to see if they know what it is

yes is the right power adapter:-)

Thanks

ok I’ve found something:

looks like wiggling the track level first thing after boot did something although not a permanent fix, you can try this…

I would still open a ticket with support, I suppose something could’ve go wrong during the 1.70 update and I would be hesitant to downgrade, I think there was some closed beta fix that wasn’t released to public, maybe through support you can have it too, if it exists…

by the way, if this is a new machine to you I would also try just backing up everything with Transfer (if it works) and just try factory reset

Just email support, they will sort it out for you, i would provide more info but they asked me to refer anyone else with the problems back to them

edit: looking at the OP comment, im not sure we had the same problem, my unit is a mkii, and is working fine now.

Ha! This somehow reminds me of my wife.

hi guys:-) at the end the calibration starts and ends well after ten times to restart whit warming and refreshing…now it works…
for me is the first Elektron I’m new thanks…

but it’s normal that pads works not do dynamics and reactive?
it needs an external device?

ciao

The pads should be “OK”. There are lots of reports from people hating them. MPC pads are considered much better. But the Rytm ones should get you some dynamics.

the pads should be velocity and aftertouch sensitive, if you don’t get any velocity movement you can check in the SOUND SETUP menu if VELOCITY TO VOL is set to OFF, otherwise you should get velocity sensitive while playing.
in general the pads on mk1 are a bit stiffer then mk2 so it could be that the pads on the unit are not as responsive as expected, but they should give at least some movement.

if you have external device with pads that you like more you can connect it for sure.

and so maybe is to fix up cause the dynamic and the response of 2 pads doesn’t works well:-( it’s a ten years old macine…

in turn off on it works , as pad for play not so well I have to push a lot…

sounds pretty typical for the mk1, and honestly mk2 too, force needed to play them, just the way it is…
