I have a Digitakt which I like, among many things because of its sound quality but even before I bought it 2 years ago, I knew that there are features it is missing that I would like to have. Mainly, looping and effecting external audio, longer samples (more like backing tracks), re-pitching and slices.
I am back to considering Octatrack again but I have a few questions:
- If you would buy new, where you would do it in Europe? I see used prices around eur 1000 but there are places offering it brand new for eur 1250. I would like to keep the budget as tight as possible but for eur 250 the added factory warranty and everything might worth spending more.
- I would like to keep the Digitakt, at least for a while to compare them but I think the Octa could replace its functionality. Is there anything the Digi does that the Octa can’t match? I know it has an easier workflow, I don’t really use MIDI sequencing a lot so that isn’t a huge concern and I know that the effects supposed to sound better and there is no Overbridge for the Octa.
- I know that an OT MK3 is not so likely and I should not wait if I like the current version but it would be cool to have the latest flagship. I guess my question is if the OT feels like old generation tech compared to the Digitakt?
Thanks a bunch!
