I have an big problem with my Rytm EFFECTS! Yesterday i was going to the amp section to mix some delay and reverb into my created sound, but I couldn’t hear anything of the effects. The delay/reverb bars are moving (by twisting knobs) but no effects are to hear.
Same problem on each track. Loading new projects doesn’t helped, still the same prob here.
So i don’t know where the problem is coming from… Perhaps i twisted some little adjustmend and doesn’t noticed that. I hope it isn’t an hardware problem!
Hopefully you have some ideas how i could fix it.

to rule out most settings issues, go to an empty pattern, clear it to be sure, load an unused kit, clear that too and try again, just to check it’s nothing more problematic - you could have e.g. plocks on fx track or a compressor strangling the reverb or scenes or etc etc etc - just get back to basics to test your hardware, then look for the culprit
It could be a gain staging problem. If you’re not going into the effects hot enough, they will be barely perceptible. This is an issue for me because I run the AR at -18 RMS into my DAW.
I agree with gain staging being tricky here, because the fx routing plays an active role in the level on the effect return. I have drastically different results setting the effects pre or post distortion in the fx section. I came to think distortion acts as a gain for the effect return when set to pre.
Comin from the A4, it took me a bit of time to get used to it though i can hardly pretend this is the “right” way.

Why are they just working on the master? Thats fu… up!
I’m using individual outs to record multiple channels at the same time.
Thru the main out i have to make several takes.
You can see that the individual outputs are get before the pan stage as they’re individual, mono.
If you wished to have fx comp and dist on each output, they had to create them (compressor, distortion, reverb and delay) after AMP stage for each output increasing the costs.
As far as i can understand and imagine.
My two red arrows from Delay and Reverb send to return aren’t really correct because of the delay-reverb routing that you can see on the bottom left of the image.
Makes sense to me. If you’re doing your final mix in-machine you’d use the onboard effects. If you’re dumping one or more tracks out individually you’re probably going to further process them externally, which means you’d probably want just the unaffected sound.

Too Debug: But nobody told us that the FX and Comp only works on the master channel. They are making promotion with their FX/Comp and single Outputs, but dont say that this just works on main out.
I wanted to use the comp inside because i dont have an external analog comp. I wanted to get away from my Computer… now i have an analog drum synth which tells me I COULD do everything without the pc or external Effects, just with hands on this machine. But in the end I have to use my mac again because i cant use the internal FX in my single outs? That’s not cool!
This reaons where part of the decision for me to buy the synth because i thought i could save some money.
Dont get me wrong. I love the Rytm.
But it seems not so well-thought-out as the Analog Four.
Hope they will come with some fixes, especially some track parameters are a little bit thin provided. (HiHat…)
Otherwise i will resell it and buy me different machines plus effects.
If you want to compress each track, and use the individual outputs, you need as many compressors as outputs.
If you only have one compressor, once the signal goes into it, you can’t “separate” the individual instruments to send them on the individual outs. It’s technically not possible.
So what you want to do would require 8 compressors.
Same for the delay and reverb : If you want the reverb signal of your kick only to send it to the kick individual out, then you need a reverb and delay that is only for the kick.
Same thing for all instruments.
So you need 8 compressors, 8 distortions and 8x2 digital effects.

But but i mean promotion whise they dont tolld that. And on the packaging i mean its doesn’t markt too. But i’m not really shure about that and don’t wanna say something wrong.
I was a little bit explosiv becaus i was so pissy that there are just master reverb/delay. Because compared with elektron sequencer it could give some nice possibilitys.
Beside this i can’t use the compressor
I just had this problem after playing in performance mode. Both delay and reverb dropped. Even though I have the levels high on both the amp and fx page. Did you a fix. Please help!
