I didn’t make a lot of music this year, so it’s a fairly easy/ limited choice for me
Aside from some ambient stuff, I did manage to finish this jungle track - though as it’s 158bpm I wonder if someone might tell me it’s some other genre … I made it with some modular hardware, with the intention of making something that reminded me of the early 90s. The speech samples kind of reminded me of Charly, though it’s a very different vibe
Looking forward to going back and checking out everyone else’s tracks.
The lowest number of likes/views of my YouTube videos, but I had fun making this little beat tape for an SP Forums beat battle this year so it’s staying up there.
A lot of my stuff was more longform from this year, and I won’t inflict that on this thread. Here’s my most recent track which I am quite pleased with, which is the closer on my most recent EP.
I look forward to spending some time listening through this thread in the coming week and making some new discoveries!
Maybe Elektronauts can finally start some “jukebox” or “radio” channel/page with collection of all music posted on this forum, maybe?
Scrape all tunes from this forum, and loop them… into infinity
I was thinking about this as well… But what they really should do is to release a compilation each year or so. But you’d need a really good curator from inside the community for this to work.
This was hard to pick with my stuff being all over the place, but despite me not loving the mix or some of the sound design it has the strongest structure to anything else I’ve made.
For some context, I took a 6 or 7 year break from music (even stopped listening for a long time) and picked up a DT2 in Spring 2025, then jumped on the Tonverk when it was first released. This was a couple of weeks later.
Next year I hope to find a zone in which a few tracks can sit but still without being too genre specific.
I’ve bought an AR MKI after hearing this track and some of your other works. It’s phenomenal what you’ve been able to craft with this instrument. Of course this doesn’t mean that I will be able to create anything even remotely as cool
IYO, am I missing out a lot by going for the MKI? I love the MKI form factor and looks and it will fit in so much better with my A4 MKI. I read that the sound engines are identical.
I never had mk1 so I can only speculate if there’s actual difference in sound, on paper they are identical sound-wise, mk2 have some QOL enhancements like internal resamplng, better individual outs, but to me the most important thing is the QPERF button which is very crucial for how I interact with the rytm, I record my stuff in one take so performance macros is something I use heavy and the QPERF button allows me to blend several macros at once, I could not replicate same effect with my faderfox ec4, you can only control every performance individually per knob.
other than that they should be identical in terms of sound and capabilities, they receive same os updates so it’s basically the same machine with different layout and some QOL upgrades.
