That sucks.

Horses for courses

have a skip through cause its half hour long, he matches patches and puts it back to back with the matriarch and the similarity is astounding. on a petty level through my monitors it sounds like the D is marginally less dull sounding even. found it interesting

The first half of that was a bit cringey (sounds like the mic was attached to the Moog itself and the keypresses and switches were louder than the synth output) but the Matriarch comparison was interesting, certainly seems in the same ballpark tonality-wise.

I didn’t listen to the whole thing but there were a bunch of complaints in the comments about that. I’ll never understand why people don’t just use direct recordings for videos like this, it’s a 2 minute job to line up the audio properly. But yeah, I was surprised at the matriarch comparison. It’s been my big want for a while. Obviously it’s a lot more open being semi modular but on raw sound I expected it to easily top the poly D. I’m sure this is more a compliment to the boog than an insult to the matriarch

these things are like $500 at the moment. i never wanted one before but i’d like a more bassy synth with a character than differs from sequential’s to compliment my Take-5

i’d get an analog four, but i’ve only ever owned the mk2 and thats more than i want to spend at the moment. plus i get sick of the A4 sound very easily. i loved the model d, aside from the tuning issue. i was considering getting a crave but this is a good price.

does it have the same issue as the model d with tuning drift? is it easier to calibrate, if so? does anyone with experience enjoy theirs?

i could also just get the pro 1 but i think there would be a little more overlap there

Got an offer from a friendo who is selling his Poly D. Thing is, I think its too big and I dont need the keys.

Have anyone had any luck removing the keybed? Only video I can find has been made private on YT

I get it, just because someone plays something on a synth doesn’t mean that synth is …

This is a Poly D. It’s a $600 synth.

This guy ( Martin Pohl ) really hams it up. It’s youtube so that’s allowed.

The video lasts one minute.

Not sure how it happened but I’ve been watching videos on this thing all day. Got me right in the GAS heart centre. I’ve never bought anything Behringer ever but I dunno, this might be my next synth, man, the sound. It seems crazy good and also ticks a keybed box for me. This video I stumbled on was such a great demo, timestamped at the arp moments:

It’s a good synth. I remember watching the band L’impĆ©ratrice live and the keyboardist was playing it. He sounded so good when doing his solos. If I had the desk space I would get one.

a Poly 60 based on 4x model 15s by Behringer would be the matriarch :mage:

This Christmas, I bought a brand-new Behringer Poly D. Today was the first day I could properly test it. However, I’m experiencing the following issue: when in Unison or Poly mode, sometimes when I press a key, it triggers the previous note instead of the correct one. I haven’t noticed this problem in Mono mode, but it happens around 10–15% of the time in Unison or Poly mode. Before I consider sending it back, is there something I might be missing? Thanks!

I don’t own one and can’t think of anything immediate that springs to mind. Have you done the obvious like opening up the synthtribe app and checking the settings there and making sure it’s running the latest firmware?

Can’t tell from your description but pay attention to the auto-damp setting and understand what that does. This is a common confusion with the Poly D, and affects notes played polyphonically. This synth has been around a long time so it’s not a bug, and it sounds unusual ( though possible ) for a manufacturing hardware defect.

Its Paraphonic not Polyphonic. What you may have happening is the envelopes retriggering as the signal path is shared. Try changing the envelopes.

First of all, thank all for the suggestions. Autodamp and retrigger are off. The fw is up to date and the envelopes are open. When the arp is on it doesn’t seem to happen. Maybe something is funny with the Keybed?

So you’re playing faster in legato ? If so turn auto-damp on. Auto-damp off is more for chords.

ADDED : Loopop shows the wrong note sticking, playing fast legato, with auto-damp off in his video at about 6:40.
