Behringer Mind Sausage 101

The “Mind Sausage” is an epic name for a synth. I hope it sounds fat and greasy.

Someone also called it a LOL-SW already

But what if it’s actually something as unimaginative as “monosynth 101”?

Wait I wonder if this time MS 101 literally stands for Mono Synth 101!

Sounds like a tutorial… :smile_cat:

I love Behringer.
They must have secret agents hiding in the bushes with binoculars outside all the big corporations HQ centres.
Elektron HQ check your bushes for suspicious Germans :ecstatic:

Hmm, if behringer came out with 1:1 replicas of monomachine for 399, I wouldn’t really suffer tbh :diddly: But naww, I think it won’t happen… software is cool like that, for a component/circuit build you can always find a service manual to reverse engineer… not so much with code. I would expect the elektron analogs to be a PITA to reverse engineer as well, as the circuits are under strict digital control…

this would be awesome as addition for my Minitaur - but please as rack or tabletop

If only they’d Behringer the SP 1200 next and make it portable. (Yes I verbified it)

Since Uli seems to hang out so much at Gs these days, I wouldn’t be surprised if a SP1200 clone would be on the cards at some point. The GS list of “classic electronic instruments of all time” is quite short after all…

I love the verbal use, that’s great… lol :grinning:

Wouldn’t that be “Behringerize”, kinda like Mr Brauer & Brauerizing? (bus processing technique of his)

The verb you’re looking for is obviously “sausaging”.

(Would rather not know the details of how it is made, so long as it tastes good and the price is right.)

Actually, I do.
I’ve read very hard words on M. Behringer’s behavior with his employees… Not the kind of company I’d blindly endorse…

Dammit. Because of your comment, I had to go read Glassdoor reviews on the company and now I can no longer blindly support them

How much does this mean to me? the 101 clones sound alright- I’ll have to weigh principle vs sound vs roland(note to self: read reviews of them)

Maybe there’s another clone out there…

Edit: the more recent reviews don’t seem as bad! Maybe the company has evolved in the six years since the glassdoor reviews?

Even if Behringer brought out 100% faithful clone of the Synthi100 for $999 I wouldn’t buy it, scummy race to the bottom business practices, and no integrity, but hey if you don’t mind that kind of company by all means buy their stuff, just remember it will always be a Behringer though, like a badge of shame in your studio.

Ask yourself how they can make such a cheap clone, aside from economies of scale, and ripping off other peoples designs.

I realise this can come across as sounding quite condescending, but as creative person yourself imagine how you would feel if some company blatantly copied your original work without paying you.
