I was asking about the controller for BM3 because I’ve been saving up for a new sampler and before I went out and bought one I opened up BM3. I’d forgotten how good and in depth it is and I don’t know why I haven’t been using it for a couple of years. My only answer is not liking the fenced off nature of iOS apps. But it really an amazing program. I think I’m going to give it another chance and also get a controller for it before spending all that money on hardware. If I can’t make the music I want using BM3 then there maybe no point in spending money on anything else!
Would be amazing. Logic has a lacked a decent sampler forever! I used to use Battery 4, but you can’t buy the new versions standalone and I’m not sinking that much money into Komplete when I won’t use any other part of it.
I’ve got no experience of it myself but I do know the mini doesn’t have after touch or velocity sensitivity, which for me is a deal breaker… I’ve had the X and upgraded to the pro, they’re both great controllers, also with the pro you get all the transport controls etc… which really makes it shine with an iPad because it cuts down on the touchscreen usage dramatically…
Yeah that would be amazing, I’d also be more than happy if they updated the automation to be more like drambos, that would just about make it the only thing I’d use on iOS…
I can’t get on with its UI. And I’ve been an MPC dork most of my life.
Yeah I can understand that, I was maschine user since it was released, probs why I find it so easy to get along with… it’s definitely got more maschine DNA than mpc…
I don’t use drambo, how is the automation different?
It’s just implemented better in my opinion, feels a lot more intuitive and coherent…
I’m just delving deeper into BM3 again, and generally liking it connected via usb to my Syntakt, but I have a question re the macros. Is this the only way to control the sends for example ?
I’d like to use my controller to control the sends 1&2 for each bank, but it seems it will only control the bank that’s highlighted, which is a dealbreaker for me to do live dub mixes with it, as I need to constantly change the bank focus to control it. Any help appreciated
I am thinking about getting Beatmaker 3 when I am away from my MPC one. But I am curious if it can handle 32bit float recordings. I couldn’t find anything on their website. Thx.
Just checked the settings and I believe so but am a bit unclear about standard 32 bit vs 32 bit float.
Also, not sure if your intention is import or recording (or both).
If you are just trying to load certain samples you could PM me a kick or something and I can try loading it.
Thanks for checking. That is enough information for me to pull the trigger.
It turns out it is perfectly capable of processing the 48khz 32bit float files from my Portacapture X6.
And after watching the intua tutorial on youtube and playing with it for 10 minutes I am already excited about intuitive UI and workflow.
It’s such a sick app! Honestly, even playing the pads on the screen feels pretty natural (skillful finger drumming aside). I wish Intua would give BM3 a little more attention because it really keeps up with things like Maschine/MPC. I love that it has a straightforward files system for accessing/previewing/loading samples.
