Arturia V Collection 8

sounds nice though its a bit expensive for me.
i’d probably just noodle with presets and then go back to using tal uno/cherry audio 106.

I was hoping for a Ensoniq ESQ-1 V
But not this time.

The Juno 60 seems nice though

Looks like the Arturia website is getting hammered just now. If it’s the usual situation with Arturia’s upgrades then I might be tempted to upgrade. I do the same for Arturia that I do for NI Komplete, if you upgrade every second iteration it usually transpires to be decent value.

Thank goodness, finally an update that doesn’t have something that I NEED to have!

Come next Black Friday, this collection will hopefully be 50% off. Maybe even sooner. That’s what I’m hoping for. If the OB-Xa had been included in the collection two weeks ago, I would’ve bought it already.

Then again, a collection like this is just too massive. I’m already overwhelmed by something like a Peak or any other deep poly. That’s why I’ve mostly used mono synths recently. :grinning:

I just updated to 7 on Black Friday and then they come out with this!!!

aarrgghh

Exactly! $200 to upgrade from 7 to 8 feels pretty steep considering, so I’ll pass.

Same here. I update every 2 years. That’s optimal for getting best value for money.

2 days ago the update was $99, and now they want $199 ???

and I got pigments and their fx bundle too and they wanna come at my duckets like that, naaaaah man

Do people who just bought V7 in the sale not the update for free? A bit scummy if not in my opinion.

The V7 didn’t include OB-Xa in the first place. It was 199€ separately. So the upgrade aligns with that pretty much, plus people get the other three new instruments with the upgrade price.

nope :frowning:

yep :frowning:

Just seems a bit too soon for me not that I care all that much. Have managed to control my V Collection GAS pretty well over the years. Came close to buying last year but resisted!

No offence folks, but putting a product on sale and then releasing a new version with a whole bunch of additional features after that is pretty standard everywhere. NI do it just the same. The basic formula I stick to is to upgrade every 2nd or maybe even every 3rd iteration. And if I’m in no especial hurry then I might even wait for a year after a new version comes out to get it in the following summer/black friday sale.

I do get (and accept) this sort of practice but didn’t the sale end like only 5 days ago or so? I don’t think even NI have been that aggressive with post sale activity/launches.

Yeah, they have been quick out of the traps this time that’s for sure. I was most surprised that they included the Oberheim in there for 4 new synths, normally they add 3 each cycle. I did think it weird that they released the Oberheim on it’s own out of cycle. I wonder if folk who bought that get a special deal?

It always looks like a lot for your money with the V collections… but I don’t think a single one of their soft synths has made it onto a finished recording of mine in around 10 years. Nice looking UI but there have always been many better sounding VSTs out there.

Yea that’s the thing, I like tweaking but hardware synths, dune3, and diva end up winning when it comes to recording. I do want to hear the new Jupiter v4.
