Well, I made the mistake of not calling it a bug on my support ticket and therefore was sent to feature-request@elektron.se - even though I also mention the pattern/sound reload bug. A bit disappointing really.
So yeah, maybe if you write to Elektron you better call it a bug @Hokus
I broke down and bought an Octatrack because I’m tired of not being able to slice. You win, Elektron. It arrives next weekend. I vow to continue to compose on the AR and only pull in the OT to record and chop grooves.
All I want for my new RYTM MKII is the ability to import scala files for use in chromatic / scale mode. It’s absurd that a machine this legendary and powerful should lack something so elemental. All relevant Elektron machines should have this.
I know this probably won’t happen but I would LOVE to have a global setting for enabling midi out for every track… I always forget to set it up and then seeing all the midi goodness missed, also setting up 13 tracks per kit is kinda tiresome.
Just passing by to say a huge THANK YOU to Elektron for listenting to many users like me that were struggling with the Page Playback activated by the Fill button!! Thanks for moving the shortcut elsewhere!!! For me it’s like I have a soul again… My live playing style involves a lot of fills while changing scenes
would love to see more sequencer modes added like reverse, pendulum, random and so forth like other sequencers on hardware synthesizers provide. If Erica Synths and Winter Modular include these sequencer options then I know the wizards at Elektron could implement this via a firmware software update.
‘Mute mode’ for trigs is on Elektron sequencer since day one, with the MD. MNM also has it.
Edit: why didn’t I mention the OT? Of course OT also has ‘quick mute’ mode
A4 and AR should have it.
I say A4 as well, because A4 should have the option to mute through trigs across all pages, not just performance page.
(I wish Elektron would pay more attention to UX coherence across their multiple instruments. Musical instruments should be coherent!)
Currently, performance macro’s amounts are remembered, meaning you can dial in PERF 1 with pot to 65, reassign pot to PERF 2 and tweak PERF 2 while PERF 1 amount remains at 65.
However, if PERF 2 amount is set to 100, then once the pot is re-assigned to PERF 1, the amount of PERF 1 jumps once you move the pot, or it might jump even without moving it, the re-assignment itself resets the amount of the newly assigned PERF.
What I am proposing is traditional pot pickup, where the PERF knob would only pick-up and change amount once it goes through the amount that was dialed in before the pot was re-assigned to another PERF.
Make it possible to use the 8 encoders to simultaneously control amounts of 8 PERFs.
I personally would propose to link them to PERFs 5-12 which would make most sense to me ergonomically, making it possible to control PERFs 1-4 with pads with pressure by left hand (fallback to zero amounts when not under pressure) and PERFs 5-12 encoders with right hand (without automatic fallback to zero unless turned down to zero or performed via pad pressure).
If I’m triggering a pad with Retrig set to always on, the velocity for the first hit applies to all the retrigs. Wouldn’t it be cool if there were an option to send aftertouch to velocity, and/or to affect the retrig rate?
If you could ‘play’ the velocity on retrigs by leaning on or lightening the pressure on the pad, you could perform some very nice roll/fade effects, even before you get to the velocity mod screen.
I’m having so much fun with my DN2 right now, but would rather work with the Analog Rytm. Formfactor wise.
Hello Elektron! Put the engine of a DN2 into an AR!
2 times FM per track - no samples, nothing analog. 12 tracks, same choke groups. DREAMY!
