Aphex Twin collaboration sampler thingy software - ‘samplebrain'

Don’t think this has been posted. Nice use of comic sans (I think) in the interface. Haven’t tried it. Haven’t even listen to an Aphex Twin album all the way though (I know, I know). I also know he gets a lot of love around here so thought I’d share

don´t get it running on m1…file is corruptet. i switched gatekeeper off via the terminal…

I skip a lot of his tracks … listening to high pitched noisy random garbage isn’t fun
But some tracks are excellent.

I tried running on M1 and had the same experience.

Saw Aphex Twin at ATP, got bored after a bit and went to watch Electric Wizard instead; much better. Have been listening to his stuff since Analogue Bubblebath though; might get Drukqs out for a spin soon, actually.

On topic: haven’t compiled the Linux version yet (edit: compiled easily on Manjaro; seems to work but can’t get sound out of it yet), but runs fine with WINE. Mostly made some stuttery glitching loops, which is probably useful for sampling, and playing around with the choice of sampling sources will probably yield better results.

But is Aphex Twin still worth it in 2022?

Super cool. Nice and fun to make “by hands” as well !

Quick start:

  1. Load a bunch of samples into the brain
  2. Click (re)generate brain
  3. Load a loop sample into the target
  4. Click (re)generate target
  5. Press play
  6. Tweak brain

Where the hell is '(re)generate target? :stuck_out_tongue:
