Any Cyclists here? Show us your bike!

Ha ! Been thinking about a Comp Carbon as well !! How are you finding it? (I’m thinking about the Silk Road Mountain Race next year and the Diverge is on my list)

Ah no, that sucks… it seems like 90% of the cycling GPS market is geared at Garmin or Wahoo.

Hehe, it shipped with GRX mechanical originally, but I like relatively narrow road bars on my bikes and the mechanical shifters were interfering with my randonneur bag… So I poached the Di2 off of my road bike, which I’m now in the process of rebuilding with a mix of mechanical Ultegra and 105 bits. Never ending story.

Damn! I think I might use up all my “likes” in this thread!

I’ve got an old Bridgestone steel frame in my workshop, but it’s not ready for its glamour shot yet.

What a beautiful bikes! I just picked up my first race bike and it’s nothing compared to these. It’s an old timer (peogeot 103)

The gears are controlled by the 2 paddles on the frame. Previous owner had it for a long long time and added horizontal brakes as well for city rides. Its quick as hell and I already fixed the brakes etc. Which is too easy on oldies like these. 1983 or something.

Canyon Grizl - gravel bike.
I sweat a lot and need plenty of water in the heat.

Nice! Love the white on black wheels and the front rack!

I rode Surlys almost exclusively for the 7 years I worked as a bike messenger. Ultra comfortable, bomber solid steel frames. This is my third Crosscheck only because of heavy wear and tear from all season riding. They used to use this ice melting crap in front of the buildings in Calgary. We called that shit “frame eater”.

Ahh. This was me for over 20 years. I moved to Winnipeg about 7 years ago and all but stopped riding my bike sadly. Bike theft here must be some of the worst in North America and drivers are aggressive and disrespectful (more so than in Calgary where I worked in traffic all day, all year).

Just this season I started back on the bike again and it’s like regaining a piece of my soul. <3 Music and cycling are the two most important things in my life (and my partner too. she’s my best friend and loves both of these things as well).

I’m seeing a lot more people on bikes now because of the pandemic. It’s awesome! Hoping this new found love of bikes is permanent for people.

Looking through this bike porn and I have to say you all are a bunch of stylish mofos.

My bikes are all very stylish. Right up until my porky, cumbersome arse climbs up on them.

There’s a reason all my bikes are steel.

doing exactly that for decades.
when the lockdown era came, i also assembled a rigid bike (from leftovers i had at home) to to ride in wintertime without destroying a suspension fork.

I only ride rigid now. Got converted by a fatbike (that I’ve since sold). So much less faf, just make sure you’ve got air in your tyres and off you go, no pissing about with sag and rebound and all that jazz.

Besides, the speeds I bimble along at make suspension seem a bit overkill.

rigid is totally OK for a fat bike, because fat tires by themselves work like a short-travel suspension.
but for various reasons i prefer „jack of all trades“ in summertime — a hardtail with 2.3–2.5-inch tyres, which is fun either for urban ride or (lighter) trails.

Rigid 29 plus does for me on most trails, my days of hooning about down drops and such on a full sus are way behind me.

as you can see on the pic, my rig is „best of both worlds“ — 29 front, 27.5 back.
winter rigid bike is just 29.

This is the way.

Who doesn’t love a good bike. Finding time to ride is tricky nowadays and I really miss the commuter racing each morning (had a run of over 10 years without being overtaken on the way to and from work - kept me fit). Now my commute is from one side of the bedroom to the other!

I limit myself to six bikes, here are the ones I will keep forever…

Daily commuter for the dry weather. I used to run it all year but the constant cleaning became a chore. Built in 2008.

Here’s the obligatory chain line shot…

My 2003 TdF spec frame made us as my road bike. Used to do 200 miles a week on this around the Pennines for a few years. Nearly 20 years on and it’s still tight.

And my trusty polo bike from 2006. Mostly used for beer runs now. Polo was brutal on the knees.

My very good buddy for many years.
Rear brake is a new thing. Might need to spend some time upgrading some things….

I’ve been slowly pushing myself back into cycling, was a bike commuter for a good chunk of my 20’s. This was the last commuter bike I had and the only one I’ve kept, old Peugeot that a good friend gave me a long time ago. It rotted for a while after I got a car, I started fixing it back up a few years ago.

I also have a really nice 80’s Miyata I picked up a couple years ago. It’s very fun to ride on flat stretches but its geared for racing and I live in a hilly area. Someday when I have some extra time and money I’ll make it into something more practical to ride here.
