do you have to calibrate it? or do you just do it because you can?
This is a massive update, had just taken my Rytm back out of the cupboard a couple of weeks ago, very happy!

There’s a dialog to prompt you to do it immediately after restarting it the first time. I don’t think the tuning fix will work otherwise.

Improved the naming of the DUAL VCO, IMPULSE, and NOISE GEN machines by adding machine type group naming. The new names are SY DUAL VCO, UT IMPULSE, and UT NOISE.

The sample STA and END parameters are now high resolution. It is also now possible to snap to integers for the STA and END parameters. This, together with now showing true integrers in the display, makes it easier to find the exact start and end points in samples, especially in longer samples such as sample chains.

Added the functionality that when selecting an empty sample slot and then pressing [YES], now opens the +DRIVE sample list.

Bug fixes

Ringing notes generated unexpected tones when browsing machines.

Kit sysex dump caused the samples to lose their assignment. Reloading the kit from the sysex dump, resulted in the kits failing to locate and assign the samples correctly.

Under some circumstances, earlier made monitoring settings were not cleared and reset when creating a new project.

There were sometimes unexpected clicks at the start of notes due to the filter envelope behavior.

A loud click could be heard during the startup of the device.

[MKII] Sounds not compatible with the active track were not indicated correctly when browsing the Sound pool list.

Sample assignments were not kept when copying kits from one project to another.

Undoing a page paste operation could cause all parameters to be set to the minimum value.

Occasionally, after saving a project in the PROJECT menu to a specific slot, the used slot was not visible in the list of projects.

The one firmware update people have been asking for for a long time! A lot of people felt like Elektron had forgotten about Rytm users. And again they surprise us :). Here’s a deep dive into the new features.

Calibrating later. Too much fun. Looks like the CR78 style metal beat sound I’ve been chasing on the elektrons is pretty easy to make with HH designer. BD and SD Acoustic really brighten the sound of the machine, sounds more open and 3d

To anyone concerned about calibration, just DO IT! It will be worth it. Pretty dope that it calibrates your device while warming up and saves those calibrations, so whenever you turn on your device, whatever temp, it will use the stored calibration to stay sounding AMAZING.
