Analog Four MK2 Strymon Mobios and Big Sky MIDI Issues

Hi Guys, Sorry about my dump questions about MIDI those last 2 days
Anyone here can help me with Analog Four MK2 and 2 Strymon Pedal?

I am using RYTH mk2 as Master so I send program change to Analog four on channel 16 and on Analog Four mk2 I send program change to Strymon Mobios on channel 15 and from Mobios it goes to Big Sky but my issue is that I get MIDI Messages not behaving properly, I spent all day reading manual and look for solution but nothing to clarify it, when I do program change from A4 to Mobios and Bigsky sometime it changes correct but I get 3 to 5 seconds delay before it affects the next pattern.
Anyone know how to go about this issue?
I am almost giving up and selling the pedals
Thanks

I assume you do a long midi chain ?

Either way maybe these links can be helpful

I tested doing program changes on two Strymon pedals from my Digitakt and Digitone, had no issues, just added the CC numbers to different encoders and recorded the automation.

Regarding the 3-5 second delay do you mean changing from a preset to another on the pedals ?
If so it will be a slight delay, but 5 seconds sounds excessive.

Hi Thanks for the link, yeah I did check them but unfortunately I am still getting a delay when changing patterns, as soon as the analog four pattern changes the preset takes about 4 seconds to change strymon’s preset… that is really annoying, I ran out of ideas what to do with them, it can’t be taken to a gig like this :-/

Have you tested cutting out the A4 and using the rytm to do the PC and see if you get a different result ?

I just tried it with Digitone now and it worked without delay, that must be something to do with the analog four, I will try to go thru all the settings again…
Spent whole day trying to sort out something probably very silly, well that is part of the game
Thanks a lot dude

Why not use the Digitone with its 4 dedicated MIDI Tracks? In addition, you will be able to send MIDI CC’s to your pedals and control them with the DN.

That is what I was thinking now, i will def be more in control with Digitone,
Shame that A4 has some MIDI limitations

A4 wasn’t meant for those tasks. I use my DN to control 4 pedals. It’s working very well. On the DN MIDI Tracks, put a Trig on the first Step of each Pattern. You can even P-lock different pedal programs on any Step of the Sequencer. If you have further questions about this, feel free to ask me.

I am doing my set up again, moving the gear over now… let’s see how it goes, yeah having more control over the pedals helps a lot with the flow… Thanks a lot dude

I am still moving cable around and if I get stuck I will give you a shout…
I appreciate it so much, I spent the whole day just sorting MIDI issues…
Thanks a lot

Maybe you can give me the list of your gear so that I can visualize all this?

Octatrack Master
Digitone
Mobious first then Big Sky

No AR or A4?

yes I have too

You want them in the chain?

yes

OT MIDI OUT > A4 MIDI IN
A4 MIDI THRU > AR MIDI IN
AR MIDI THRU > DN MIDI IN

DN MIDI OUT > Mobius MIDI IN
Mobius MIDI OUT > Big Sky MIDI IN

The order of the devices doesn’t matter as long as the MIDI OUT of the DN goes to your pedals.

Does the MIDI OUT of the Mobius can act as a MIDI THRU? I didn’t check in the manual.

That is the way I am already set, I am going to have a go on Mapping the Strymon on Digitone and see if I can P.Lock the knobs and hopefully it will work smoothly on Digitone

With one MIDI Track, you can control up to 8 parameters on your pedal. Are you familiar with the MIDI Track’s pages of the DN?
