I am a huge fan now! They posted on Instagram, and one of the tracks were made way later than others. You could almost say “filler” and even that one is masterpiece.

Some of mine were already mentioned…

King Crimson - Red (one of all time favorites); I would add also Discipline and Power to Believe by KC
The Sound - Jeopardy and From Lion’s Mouth as well
Morphine - I would go so far to say that their whole discography has no filler
Talking Heads - first five albums and I also love Naked
The Beatles - Revolver (don’t listen to them much these days, but wanted to introduce them to my child, so I listened to it just recently after many years and thiís one is perfect)
Love - Forever Changes
Comus - First Utterance
Nomeansno - Wrong
Faith No More - Angel Dust and King for a Day
Radiohead - Kid A
Fiona Apple - in particular mood everything, but last two records (The Idler Wheel… and Fetch the Bolt Cutters) are incredible from start to end…
Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park (and probably in minority, but Process as well)
Boards of Canada - Geogaddi
Neurosis - Times of Grace
The Wolfgang Press - Funky Little Demons
The Earlies - These Were the Earlies
Einstürzende Neubauten - Silence Is Sexy
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish

The album this song is on

Oh yeah, duh.

Hell yes, especially Laputa. I’d add The Boy and The Tree too. Wish I could add Sakura but that smokey one in the middle and that silly jazz piano things are kind of duds. Some incredible vibes on that record, though.

I know, but this is totally subjective as Dead Cities was released when I was 15, and had such a strong impact on me, that I couldn’t make it unfeatured on the list

although two songs seemed fillers to me initially, over many listens i started to like them too

Yeh that little run of albums of his around the early 2000’s are all very special, particularly laputa, but I totally agree with your point re: sakura

Off the top of my head and in no particular order:

  • loveless
  • entroducing
  • blue album
  • fashion nugget
  • is this it
  • sgt peppers
  • tomorrows Harvest
  • I’m a Radiohead fanboy and I really don’t think there is any true filler in any album of theirs. The interludes / weird ambiences are some of my favorite bits sometimes. I like Pablo too. Sue me.

Cool topic. I’ve thought about this a lot before. Specifically the fact that many of my top ten favorite albums really aren’t by my favorite band’s.

Weezer’s Blue Album and The Strokes Is This It are perfect examples. Far from my favorite bands, but hell if I don’t play every song back to back any time I listen. They are just so cohesive.

Just discovered : Out Hud - Street Daddy (2002)
Totally funky, no filler.

music for the jilted generation is my favorite prodigy album except for one love, never fitted in the album for me, too cheerful

I’m realizing that every single album I love has one song on it I don’t like.

What a grumpy bastard I am.
