I’m pretty sure this isn’t possible. Neither can you do p-lock style automation (hold step->tweak->records tweak to step).
Both those features would really open it up for me. I use it to step sequence / play notes & CCs for hardware & as a midi looper / audio looper / audio fx / crossfader DJ mixer. It’s dope even with its limitations but my goodness it would be amazing if it had a better step sequencer implementation… So many helpful and basic features are sadly missing E.g it won’t do page follow for a long sequence across multiple bars which does bug me (you can switch to monotimbral step display mode to see 64 steps as a kinda workaround). But I still love it!
Hmmm you listed me a bunch of reasons now to buy one, was hoping the step sequencer would be more robust. However, at the same time was hoping the eventual firmware update would bring some fresh life into it.
If you just want a midi step sequencer just get a Hapax. I kinda wish I’d done that, but I do like the audio part of the Force, and the knobs have super nice action!
Yeah. New firmware is incoming. Will have support of all the latest plugins but also add long requested features like Clip Follow, etc. Force hardware is cancelled for sure - no more production. But Akai will continue to support it for the time being.
Do you mean record direct into the Force Arranger on your Force? Or are you planning to use Force with your computer in Ableton Live as an instrument? Explain more about your intended use.
Yes direct into the force arranger and export this as a live set in arrangement view not session Vieuw or record direct into Ableton in the arrangement view with my computer real time.
If you have issue getting the right file go to the iMusic account. The Akai link keep giving me the MPC3.5 file which doesn’t work on the Force. May Akai mixed up the OS file & it works for MPC. LOL
