Guys I know the move has to be connect to wifi which I can do. However, I cannot access cloud on the laptop at work with Ableton on it due to firewall restrictions.

Was hoping please if someone kind enough will test this out just to make sure, fi anyone can plug in a move to a laptop say with wifi turned off and still access and download the files from the move?

Please if anyone do this I really appreciate it.

I would just run a WiFi hotspot from your Laptop to Connect Move to doing those Move Manager sessions?

Or use your phone as a HotSpot to connect to on the laptop/desktop and Move.

I am at work with wifi turned off and can move recordings, samples, sets back and forth through the manager through USB.

I’m about to go pick mine up. Curious if you can transfer samples while you’re jamming

nice this is what I wanted to know, if I can just connect via usb to transfer and understand using the browser local.move to transfer. However, is it possible without wifi on the laptop to do so .

I think sweetwater is giving cheap shipping to force us to pay for a higher tier.

I just say that because mine was sent via ups and is already here. It would be at my house today typically. But instead they are handing it off to usps to do the delivery so that delays it a day.

I’m not in a huge rush so whatever. Just sharing because that’s a pretty sharp downgrade in shipping from my prior experiences.

Same exact thing here. Made it to my home town last night with UPS tracking showing for today… then this morning the status changed to ‘ Your local post office is making final delivery’ and the new USPS tracking number says ‘A delivery date will be provided when USPS receives the package’.
Hoping I won’t be waiting till Monday.

Yeah, the free Sweetwater shipping usually takes about 5-7 days for me (to NC).

But I will say I’m pleased with the $5 2-day FedEx. I ordered Wed at ~6pm and just now (Fri, 2pm) received my Move. 44 hrs from online order to in my hands seems for $5 is reasonable.

I won’t have a time to dig in until later but from the 5 mins I had a chance to play around with it, the Move does feel well made and it’s intuitive and easy to start using it.

Mine arrived yesterday from Sweetwater. Took the free FedEx ground 2-day shipping and had it delivered to a FedEx location since I live in a city and wouldn’t be home when it would be delivered. Picked it up yesterday evening. (haven’t used it yet as I have a backlog of real life things I need to complete before I mess around with something fun and new.) For others who have yet to purchase— maybe having it delivered to a fedex location will help avoid the handoff to usps.

Hey there,

of cliplaunching

which information are shown at the display while controlling the decices?

Thank you very much forward for some infos

Shipping discussion

Ordered mine at 9am yesterday. Fedex next day shipping was like $12, it arrived about 2 hours ago. Honestly pretty surprised/ impressed. It usually takes them a full day to get something out the door even if I order before the cutoff for the day. I’m in the US midwest, so my orders always ship from the Fort Wayne warehouse.

Initial lunchtime impressions:

  • Built just as sturdy as the Push 3
  • Buttons are a little less difficult to push, perhaps because they’re smaller, but definitely using the same mechanism. They feel sturdy, but not unbearably stiff.
  • Very intuitive. Aside from looking up a couple of the shift-function icons, I only had to look up one functional thing so far (changing an individual track volume) and that was solely because I didn’t think to try the obvious thing (hold the track selector button and turn the volume knob).
  • I can definitely see how it’ll be real easy to make a full track with this thing by jamming a drum rack full of bass/ melodic samples. I got to an ok-ish skeleton arrangement in 20 minutes.
  • It would be incredible to have even one global send FX slot - I’m thinking for a delay/reverb, so I could use the 2 slots on a synth track for more interesting things. But this is minor and not really a big deal.

Ordered on Wed 9th and received the Dispatched email Today…so I would relax, it may take 2 days best to process

Anyone already tried to transfer a Drumrack made with Ableton Live’? While waiting for my Move to knock my door I was thinking on practicing some new presets to transfer on Drumrack, say I like to split a loop using Simpler into a drumrack to later transfer it to Move ( or NOTE ). It looks from the ableton help page that the Drumrack in order to work on move need to contain Drumsample each pad which is not created automatically by Simpler when the Slice to Drumrack is operated. So it looks like I need to move every slice into the drumsample x pad manually on the template provided by Ableton

You may already have seen this tutorial but it explains under “Converting Drum Rack Simplers to Drum Sampler” how to do this automatically: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/15616909965596-Presets-on-Move#h_01J7JX8NF74TZT0FQ9G98XDAC0. There’s a menu option when you right click the drum rack that does this for you either way. This page also gives you some templates to get started, which I used and made things a lot easier.

I spent some time today converting some Samples from Mars kits into presets and while it is a bit tedious, it only took about 1-2 minutes for each one once I had the process down - including setting the right choke groups, etc. Then it’s really easy to drag them onto Move and away you go.

Honestly, it’s a really cool piece of gear, made 2 “pattern” that I really like in less than 10 minutes  love it, cant’ wait to add a bunch of samples =D

Is there a way to stop a clip if you have all 8 slots filled?

Spent the evening getting acquainted with Move. Pure fun. Early doors but looks like they knocked it out of the park with this….
