Ableton Live 12

Hmm. Lot’s of people use it, but since Joergen is primarily a Bitwig/Reaper user then perhaps Ableton Live compatibility is taking a lesser priority? Write to him - I’m sure the contact is on the website and he’s very helpful and active.

I could test it in the evening, if you’d like?

Which OS and Live version you’re on (both latest 12.1 Suite and macOS here). Also, is this the native LFO, or a 3rd party M4L device?

EDIT: forgot I’ve my Surface Pro with me  I replicated this in Live 12.1, with 2 instances of ShaperBox 3 and LFO randomly modulating chain selector. Dragging it to User Library works without any issues:

Its the same, mac mini and i think the abelton LFO. The overall track count is maybe 20, not sure if that matters - i made some omnsiphere pads, which i then resampled, and well tried to hack to have some additonal gated sounds to get some rythmic intrest to the ambience.

I’ll test on my Mac in the evening, but - as you can see above - it worked just fine on Windows laptop.

I don’t think so… Still hope though

Are you opening the project directly from the project file or do you open live using the Ableton live program icon?

With the program icon, its not crashing with start, only when i place the FX rack into my user libary.

My Ableton Standard has been crashing at launch routinely now. I sent the crash files to them. I hope they fix it. I don’t know if a plugin is causing it but I don’t even use anything fancy in Ableton…

you can launch in Safe Mode to eliminate/verify plugin fault, just hold alt/option when opening Live and it will skip plugin scan, if it still crashes then it’s not plugins issue.

you can also take a look yourself inside the log files the error should be there and above it you should see at what phase it crashed.

Thanks! I will do these and try to see if I can figure it out.

Try opening a project directly from the project file. I’ve had some strange (reproducible) bugs lately but they only happen when I open live using the program icon.

Not saying it will solve anything for you but it doesn’t hurt to give it a try.

Does anyone who is behind the MAKID project manager?

I’m always skeptical of free, it’s a habit and not knocking the project, which looks amazing.

I see there’s a discord channel, but wanted to ask if anyone already knows if this on the level (like no uploading to strange servers, not weird personal info requested/shared or other nefarious bits).

Not shade… I really would like to give this a go because it looks great.

Yea for sure I can understand the hesitation when it’s free but not open source.

But I’ve talked to the guy on Discord, he’s a cool guy, I think he isn’t doing anything nefarious. He’s trying to make some money with it by providing a cloud based WAV sharing platform to easily share bounces with collaborators and labels etc but the app itself I believe he wants to keep free because it’s a passion project he made for a friend that sort of took off. He’s a nice guy I encourage you to join the discord and participate. Maybe you can raise your concern and I am sure you will get an official response.

Just bought the whole Philip Meyer phase 2 midi tools bundle on sale. Neat!

Thank you for that!

This is going to be incredibly helpful for me.

The rating system will work wonders especially with all the modular recording sessions to Push and Move.

My number of 2024 projects ballooned but they’re not all meant as projects to finish. Then, with auto naming on Push and Move, its getting away from me on organization.

Interesting tool. What if you bounce several versions within the project folder? Do you get to pick which one plays?
