I really like the mixed view (arranger + clips) in Bitwig and the way it aligns tracks & clips horizontally in that view. Much easier and faster to use than switching between Session view and Arrangement view in Live (mute point if you use two screens…but even then, the horizontal track alignment in split view in Bitwig just clicks with me).
The Bitwig Sampler is also great for sound design, I like it much better than Ableton’s Sampler (but not as easy for traditional sample & chop workflow as Simpler…at least I haven‘t gotten to a similar workflow ease yet).
MPE support obviously beats Live 10 all out, per note FX/modulation is cool too.
The Modulator/Modulation functionality in Bitwig is phenomenal, really good and Ableton doesn‘t have anything as flexible and fast that I know of. I know of the M4L devices (LFO etc) but again, what Bitwig does is on another level.
The Grid is also a lot faster and easier than Max 4 Live, though Max is obviously more powerful and flexible (I‘ve been getting into Max programming/patching lately so I enjoy that for the engineering part, Grid feels more like a modular system - akin to VCV Rack or Reaktor Blocks - than programming, which is nice from a music making point of view).
The browser on Bitwig is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Live‘s browser! Faster, easier to find what I‘m looking for, preview anything almost instantaneously (my Macbook is old lol, hence „almost“ :)).
I like the look of Live better and it has more/better built-in devices.
Audio editing workflow is better in Live for me so far as well.
In general, Bitwig feels like it was built from the ground up into what it is today, no unnecessary weight to it at all.
If there’s anything in particular you’d like to know about, let me know.
