That’s the one, came next day as well…well worth it.
The donner b1 video you posted sounds wayyyy better than I expected!
Any thoughts on the B1 compared to your other 303 clone list here? vs the TT-303 or vs the T8?
It’s hard to compare the sound of them as I’ve not used the B-1 alongside the others, but I’d say it sounds better than the TD-3 and TB-03 for sure. Probably not as authentic as the x0xb0x and TT-303 but it’s still pretty good.
I caved, the B-1 arrived this morning
Anyone know if this price is possible in the States? Best I can find $109.
Out of stock in Australia, or more accurately, never have been in stock. Ive had my eye on it since it came out.
Ive got a Xoxbox, so I dont really want another 303, but curiosity etc. Plus its called Donner, which is either a kebab or French for ‘to give’ depending on what mood you’re in I suppose.
Seems to be $105 on the Donner site with code EAC20
Not sure if there’s anything better. CE30
does not work.
That’s the price I purchased at (buying in the USA).
One thing I like on the Donner is the random mode. Rather than just playing random notes, it plays through the notes you programmed in the sequence randomly, so you can lay down some notes from a given scale and everything will all be in key. I don’t think any other clones can do this.
Just ordered for £70
I think the TT does similar in the Pattern Lab.
You choose your notes and other modifiers and hit generate
… and “thunder” in german
I have a T-8 and a B1
I think the core sounds are both similar quality.
The delay is much better on the T8. The Donner is quite polite and lacks tempo/sync
With both of them the overdrive is somewhat mild and switching it for a Boss DS-1 for example takes it to the next level, but then of course you can’t use the internal delay
I don’t know which is more authentic, but I don’t really care.
What I can say is the B1 is on my desktop and the T8 is put away.
In Canada we have Donairs … which are a pita style sandwich with shaved mystery meat (beef and lamb?), onions, tomatoes, and a sweet, creamy sauce. It originated in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Yes, but it prints the randomly generated notes to a pattern, so it’s more of an offline process. The Donner continues to play random notes live. Both are great
looks cool
That’s Andreas Tilliander territory!
Thats known as a donner kebab where Im from. From Turkish owned take away shops. Only considered viable as food when walking home from pub or club absolutely twatted.
