sell it all and get a vintage roland tb303 then sleep with it under your pillow and only play with it on a full moon running on batteries in an outside space away from people and things…then and only then you can claim to be addicted…

They both sound really good (better than the TB-03), but those sequencer modes on the TT-303 are where it’s at! Fun :star_struck:

I had two MB-33s at one point. Great little boxes

For me this is my two best clone in my setup, small size for both, effects that are cool for trance on the tb-3. 3 waves on the mam can add some movements in the sound…

regarding effects: the 4th piece of hardware that should be on the pic is Zoom MS-70CDR pedal – i use it for MB-33’s.

I have it too, but i don’t really like the reverbs, compressor can be cool. which effect do you use? Have you flashed the pedal ?

various overdrives / distortions, delays, phasers.
and yeah, compressors.

Weren’t they gonna release a new one?

It’s out already

record a full album using just your 303 synths

I have the Roland TB-03 and love it most. It is so versatile. You can make good basslines and/or Acid sequences as you like. For me better sounding than a Moog Mother 32.
After the Octatrack MK2 it is my favorite synth followed by the Virus TI Polar and Alpha Base

Ahem

Currently:
2 x Donner B1
2 x Roland T-8
2 x Roland TB-03
3 x Roland TB-303
1 x Cyclone Analogic TT-303 mk1
1 x Cyclone Analogic TT-303 mk2
1 x x0xb0x built with correct parts and modded
1 x BassBoy

I love acid, been into it since the 80’s. All my 303’s were bought long before prices went insane.

Which is your favourite?

Probably soundwise my x0xb0x as I modded it to sound exactly like I wanted (could be a bit biased though) it is a good all rounder.

One of my 303’s is a rev B which sounds the best out of those, I also enjoy the sound of the TT’s which sound very much like a 303 with the Robin Whittle range extension mods, one of my 303’s has those mods. The T-8 is just so convenient with its small size and some nice features, the B1 is very fun to use along with the TTs and x0xb0x it has realtime mods, but with the crunchy drive and lofi delay.

The TB-03 is good for higher acid lines (and like the T-8) has an extended note range, so for really slidey stuff it is very nice.

One day I might get around to linking them all up and doing an acid set, but mostly I rarely use more than 2 at a time. I like making acid with other gear too, including samples, I’m no purist, but the TB-303 will always be my favourite as it is where it all started for me.

Self confessed purist here.

Was unsatisfied with most clones so built a RE-30 but I haven’t tried them all

Of the clones you have which do you think sounds closest to the original?

In demos I’ve heard it sounds like the TT303 MK1

I love my RE 303 but creating decent patterns is so hit and miss
