303 addiction

thanks  :slightly_smiling_face:

hey friends can anyone with a TT303mkI and a toneverk tell me if they’re getting weird midi delay? my TD303MO works perfectly fine with it but for some reason the cyclone just lags by like 10ms. it almost seems like it could be the envelope response but never noticed it lagging before TV. also curious if TT303mkII has this issue or not.

Bona fide legit 100% ACID-compliant TD-3 and TD-3-MO’s (Model 15 in the background). Reverse-engineered from UFO’s

How do you rate the MO compared to the standard TD3? I’m hankering for an acid box…

It’s tricky. You can go to more extremes and experiment (such as with FM), but also getting that sweet squelch spot is harder. On the upside, if you’ve got a semi modular, modular equipment, or something like an OXI One there’s more jacks you can use to try things with.

The sub oscillator on the MO is really nice though. I’d say get both. I like to pan them hard right and hard left

I’m a RE303 owner but would give a limb for a Future Retro 777.

This mfr right here gets dirty!

I know it’s probably blasphemy, but I’m having so much fun sequencing my TB-03 with my M+. Got all macros set up for the knobs. Fixed velocity at 99 so I just have to bump it up to 100 for an accent. It’s great and I’m so glad I finally snagged one.

Thanks for your kind words

Maybe counting clicks isn’t a good measure to rate a track (also some effort went into the video glitching stuff).

Also seems like clones such as the XOXBOXES and the NAVA receive far less attention than music being made on the og Roland devices - which is a pity as those clones are really excellent instruments.

Cheers

That 777 sounds so freaky and nice. Love it, thank you.

I wrote my first song using the TB-3. It comes in about half way through. Sorry for the cross post.

it seems to be true what they say about xoxboxes and quality issues at least from my perspective i have bought two on ebay and sent both back for being faulty - the acidlab bassline i have i feel sounds a bit brittle compared to my long gone old roland tb and the one sound i managed to coax from one of the faulty xoxboxes - maybe theres a way to tame the acidlab?

Not really.
N=2 in ebay x0xbox purchases means bugger all.

I built my X0xbox. Nothing wrong with it at all. Works perfectly fine.

If the builder does their job properly, it will work.

X0xbox ‘quality issues’ what ever they may be, come from the builder not the X0xbox. Remember Xoxbox is a DIY project.

This also means they are extremely to fix yourself.

It is very easy to make bad solder connections and convince yourself that they are good. I suspect that most “bad” DIY x0xb0xes just need to be careful inspected and have some solder blobs reheated. Easy but tedious if you know what you are doing, frustrating otherwise.

That said, it’s perfectly reasonable to exclude DIY gear from your studio if you aren’t into DIY yourself and don’t have a friend who is eager to fix your broken gear.

Really enjoyed this!

Thank you! It was fun to make. I’m not a dance music aficionado by any means. Haha!

And it’s all the better for it.

Caught my ears nicely, unexpected.

Last month I did this kinda acid dub thing, if that’s a thing at all. Don’t know if it’s worth sharing here but it’s a quick listen to find out.
